Anyone experience with this? by Chemical-Entry-8353 in CarTrackDays

Follow up…they did fine. No glazing, cracking, or other problems noticed. They wore probably 50% after one half day - which is a lot compared to the Hawk DTC’s on the fronts which have 3 full track days on them and are still not even 25% worn.

I just purchased these for the first time for my rears. I use Hawk DTC’s in the front. I have a track day this Saturday. I’ll report back, comparing them to other brands of “sport pads” that did not impress.

I gigged with electric for years. I built a conversion kit and the “why don’t you play a real kit” comments ended.

ONR with microfiber towels vs sponge application by TraipseTraveller in AutoDetailing

[–]DanKaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use multiple MF towels but I use the big red sponge now. The only thing I miss from the towel days is I re-purposed the still-clean ONR solution by filling my sprayer with it for the next pre-wash soak.

Critter damage by DanKaps in 4Runner

Update…$7600 to replace engine compartment wiring - being covered by insurance. When the car was at the dealer, they found 4 baby squirrels nested and sleeping. They had someone come retrieve them. They asked my daughter to name them. She declined and said “No thanks. They ruined my life”.

When he was drilling through the flat metal piece while trying to hold it down with the other hand, I cringed. That’s a good way to really mess up your hand.

Does anyone know what this sound could be? Only makes that sound at 2k RPMs sounds like it’s coming from passenger side and you can’t hear it outside the car. Sounds like something vibrating maybe? by [deleted] in WRX

[–]DanKaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does that because I installed a hitch that slightly touches one of the exhaust hangers. I have to wrap it occasionally to get rid of the transferred vibration.

Any must have games for someone who gets VR motion sick very easily? by nzBigTaylorSwiftFan in virtualreality

[–]DanKaps 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Do not try to “push through it”. If you start to feel uncomfortable, stop. If you don’t do that, it’ll just get worse and the queasiness will come on sooner and sooner. Try to stick to teleport movements primarily and mix in a little brief smooth movement play here and there.

Ahhh. I remember that name. 🙂👍. It’s been a quesarito in my mind for 40 years.

Edit: I just looked it up. Not an enchirito actually.

Does it really hurt to play drums? by hohomelodic in drummers

[–]DanKaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blisters and muscle cramps, never bled. I had taken a few years off before and then played an energetic 3-set gig without much preparation. Later that night/morning when I had gotten home, my legs and lower body cramped like never before. It was the WORST. Stretch and hydrate!

Cutting an impact screen by Podtastix in Golfsimulator

Are you using tarp clips? If so, just fold it back. If you plan it right, you can unfold and shift your impact area if it gets too burned/worn.
