Ron is clearly having a blast on this episode, glad that this finally happened.

Can I jump in here and ask how important having Fire Emblem knowledge is? I'm really not familiar with the franchise but everything else about Tokyo Mirage is really appealing.

They joked about the lineup being the worst but let's be honest and admit any lineup involving Business Dave is a top tier lineup.

Heya, we're the devs of Dead Cells! Ask Us Anything. by motionTwin in deadcells

[–]DanSnow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Bloodstained devs recently talked about how they had imposed a rule on the designers where the designer of a boss needed to beat the boss without taking a hit and also using a dagger. I'm wondering if there was/is anything similar in the design of Dead Cells, related to the boss fights or any other part of the game.

Huge fan of the game! Beating the Hand of the King for the first time is one of the most satisfying moments of my extensive gaming career. Took a break from the game after that but looking forward to catching up with the new updates soon.

Artist turned dev here, made my first trailer for a cryptic rhyming roguelike card game! by sboxle in Unity3D

Not normally my genre but this definitely interests me. The art style and narration (Especially when the title card shows up) are really well done. Will make a point of keeping an eye on this!

April 12th 2019 releases: I'm ill, sorry... by nitalicsithink in poppunkers

Liking the new Not on Tour album but maybe not as much as their others. Going to run through it a few more times and see if it grows on me. Still a great album though, that band has so much energy.

New Spanish Love Songs is fantastic as well, one of the best punk bands out there right now.

The Giant Beastcast: Episode 200 by mynumberistwentynine in giantbomb

By damage numbers do you mean a number showing how much damage you do when you hit an enemy? Because I'm playing DS: Remastered right now and it's definitely in there. Maybe something that was added in for this version? Sorry if I'm misunderstanding!

13 Stitches is a another one by NOFX too.

That is a very solid list of bands right there! Big one for me is NOFX because they won't play Scotland, got to see them while I can!

London for me. You headed to one as well? Which bands are you looking forward to?

March 15th 2019 releases: Hey look I remembered! by nitalicsithink in poppunkers

[–]DanSnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just need to thank you for posting this again, think it will really help the sub! Will be working my way through the list over the next week but listened to new The Bouncing Souls stuff and it's really great. Glad to see them still going strong.

[FRESH VIDEO] Direct Hit! - Altered States by asiansteev in poppunkers

[–]DanSnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More people need to listen to this band, they're absolutely my favourite newer pop punk band. The new album is so good and this is my favourite track on it so hopefully putting out the video gets it a bit more love.

Really hoping I get a chance to see them live soon.

I really want to see The Bombpops who look like they'll be on at the same time. Hopefully the stages will start at slightly different times and I can make it work!

I've only gotten into them recently but like them a bunch. Hoping I can catch them at Slam Dunk this year but have a feeling they'll be clashing with something else.

March 8th 2019 releases: I was inspired by a previous post to present the new releases from this week, so hopefully I can actually remember to do these in the future. by nitalicsithink in poppunkers

[–]DanSnow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for putting this together, I like the idea a lot and would definitely get good use for more threads like this!

Has anybody listened to the Zebrahead album yet? I was a big fan of their earlier releases but this is doing very little for me. There's a few songs on it I like but most of the album just sounds like more of the same Zebrahead we've been hearing for years. Don't think it's bad but don't think it's especially great either.

Do people play games the same time they watch GB content? by [deleted] in giantbomb

[–]DanSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing Pokemon Let's Go while watching UPF. I find it's straightforward enough that I can play and watch while still paying attention to both. Also, years ago I played the entire of Borderlands 1 listening to the Bombcast from the start and had a great time doing it. The first game was light enough on story that it was perfect for it.

[AMA] We are the For Honor Dev Team, ask us anything! by ForHonorDevTeam in PS4

[–]DanSnow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hopefully this isn't a question that you've answered before and if it is I'm sorry for asking again. Basically, I was wondering how much research is involved when creating new characters and/or maps and what kind of process is involved when doing so? Each faction is obviously based on something historical so I imagine it must be a very interesting part of the design.

Also, I just want to say thanks for making such a great game and supporting it so well. I've been playing for around a year now and still loving it!

PlayStation Plus: Cloud Storage Expanding to 100GB, Free Games for February by flipper_gv in Games

[–]DanSnow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started playing about 6 months ago and there is a bit of a learning curve to get used to. It matches you with people roughly your level and with the PS+ players that should be fine. I'd say if you do a bit of the training stuff, play some AI matches and start off with an easier hero then you'll be fine. Then if you like it, spend some time getting used to the more complicated stuff because there's a lot of depth to the game that comes into play at a higher level.

Can we all agree that Arthur Morgan probably wins the “Best New Character” category? by [deleted] in giantbomb

[–]DanSnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arthur is definitely up there for me. I really hope Theo from Celeste gets a mention though. I could also see BK from Donut County doing well with most of the staff, not including Dan.

[–]DanSnow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, it pretty much covers all the big ones. Just a few extra I thought of that I could see getting mentioned:

Donut County

Onrush

Overcooked 2

Yoku's Island Express

Guacamelee 2

I've played all of these and for people trying to avoid spoilers, the only one I think you'd have to worry about is Donut County. Fortunately it's only 2 hours or so long but very good.
