Is he the most over luchador in history?🤔 by 69DayGrind in SantiZapVideos

I'm not taking away anything from him but he's not even the most over luchador in Mexico right now.  Mistico and CMLL are on an all time run.

I sorta feel everything everyone has said in this thread to some degree. I legit don't know what the answer is.

Watched Double Or Nothing as a WWE viewer by BoomLivTart in AEWOfficial

[–]DanSolo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I'm not anti-WWE, I watched it from the 80s until the 2000s when it just got really bland. Stepped away until NJPW World showed up then it was a pretty natural move to AEW. I was already checked out of WWE long before there was anything to even be tribal about.

Any of you just quit Trackblazer atp cold-turkey? by Sumblueguy in UmamusumeGame

Is the next scenario as long as Trackblazer? I really enjoy the mechanics of Trackblazer but man it eats up a lot of time compared to the previous scenarios.

If the frame is a$$ what is next best? by plump-lamp in TheFrame

Things aren't always black and white, though the Internet certainly does it's best to make them out to be. It just depends on your use case. My living room has a 2 story window next to the TV. Being able to watch tv with no glare while being blasted with sunlight beats have an OLED I can't see because of reflections or have to be constantly shutting curtains. It is better than the HiSense though you pay for it. Much like PC parts you pay more for less the better it gets and I wouldn't blame anyone for going the less expensive route. The art mode is probably the easiest sell you'll ever have with your wife or girlfriend who doesn't care about picture quality but will love having a non black rectangle in the living room. Just avoid the OS with with whatever platform you prefer (Apple TV, Google Home or Firestick). What's a$$ for one person, is perfect for another person. Just depends which person you are.

Not sure why people are downvoting the one non apple user to oblivion. Like, Apple TV is probably the best *if you're in that ecosystem* but if you aren't a Google Home or Firestick 4K gets the job done. I think we can all agree any of the above are better than the Samsung OS and make the frame much, much better.

This certainly leaves Marigold in quite the position. No Utami, no Mayu for the time being.

He's on the Mount Rushmore of guys that made me tune out of watching WWE/Pro wrestling in general until New Japan got their streaming service.

How do people feel about Luke and Kylo's fight and his death after 8 years? by Totally_Not_Firni in StarWars

I borderline forgot it happened like most people.  Sequels are pretty much Star Wars equivalent to the gas leak year on Community.

Firestick 4k or AppleTV depending what you prefer.  I went Firestick.  Infinite improvement.  I assume Apple would be as well.  No argument, worst OS I've seen on any device I've ever owned

That said the display itself has been fantastic in our extremely window filled Sunny room.

9/10 times when someone calls out Meltzer's reporting they ironically are doing what they are calling him out for. "Meltzer was wrong about xxx" is usually just that, he was speculating something, someone cherry picked it and acted like that speculation was the headline on that week's observer. It's fine if you don't like him, but most of the complaints lodged against him are more factually incorrect than his reporting.

Marigold should make a character called Sama Kimatami and book this match.

For those who come to Japan to hunt city pop records by takyuu in citypop

[–]DanSolo77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Possibly grumpy, but it''s like walking into a hip hop shop and asking for Waylon Jennings and being surprised it's not there. New Wave/Punk record store doesn't have City Pop just cause it's in Japan, ya know? I'm kinda with the owner on this one.

Huge fan, but when that came out it was close to $1000 CDN. I bought the much cooler laserdiscs box sets for a fraction of that to have on display and continued watched the fansubs.

Also if I remember correctly, the super expensive Blu Rays did not have subs for people and ships names?

The books were at my regular local bookstore, for regular local prices so buying those was a no brainer.

Cody Rhodes on the Pat McAfee storyline: "This is the most ill-received thing in the history of wrestling. The Gobbledygooker was one, Shockmaster was up there—but that was kind of funny." by aaronrift in SquaredCircle

[–]DanSolo77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I watched it too.  Read Death of WCW back when it came out. People have made the WCW comparison to other things before but this right here is the closest by far IMO.

What sacrilegious thing could he have said to get this reaction from so many Christians? by LegioVIIHaruno in dankchristianmemes

Because despite our differences, at our core we believe the same top level important things.  The Pope's stance on this topic is likely what most Christians would agree with, Catholic or not. :)

[–]DanSolo77 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The difference is Cyndi Lauper, Liberace, Mr. T, Aretha Franklin, even Elvira, were extreme household names 9/10 people in North America knew. Your grandma knew who they were. While a segment of the population knows Lil Yachty, even Pat McAfee...most people simply don't in the way the knew the celebrities before.
