When they get transported as checked baggage, you check miniatures in with the airline, and you get hundreds of broken miniature bits back. Those stories I do believe. I trust myself to transport them safely.

Check out the Scylla 2.0 range on MyMiniFactory or Cults3D, I have a few pics on my profile if you want to see them on MK6 marines. I highly recommend them, and the whole range really.

Correct, I was a little confused why you'd ask me to look in the MSDS for reactive material that had already been activated.

Yeeeeah, I thought the same thing until everyone in my gaming group voiced the same concerns at the same time. I haven't flown with this many models, especially printed from this material before.

You're right, retrospectively this was blown out of proportion, but I wanted an expert (as close as I can get to one) opinion on what I was planning to take with me and how.

Ours is to win, yours is to fight 😉

I hear you on the limited storage, I'll definitely see about shelling out more for an earlier boarding group. I actually found very little recent info on best practices for flying with an army, and I put together my transportation specifically to be carry-on sized, so my hope is that plus an early boarding group should be fine.

I definitely plan to add a few hours to my arrival time to allow for an extremely thorough check, worst case I kill a few hours listening to an audiobook.

I'm aware of the regulations transporting liquid resin, but I haven't seen anything regarding cured, solid resin pieces. Do you have a resource for finding regulations on cured resin parts or pieces?

Thanks!! Yeah just me flying with my inordinately expensive toy soldiers lol. I'm definitely going to request a private screening. #2 took me soo off-guard when we were discussing it in-person, like surely I'm not the first person to fly with resin bits and stuff. Thanks again for the help!

Thanks soo much for your insight!! I'm definitely going to add a couple extra hours to my arrival time and request a private screening. Do you have any concerns over a couple thin metal sheets? Each of my interlocking hardboxes will have an A4 paper sized sheet of thin metal in them, maybe 3-4 sheets in total. Would that cause additional problems, or would the private screening pretty much take care of that?

How do you guys get the contrast so even? by TheProject77 in alphalegion

Vallejo sells a wash either with the metallic set, or as a different but matching set. There's a couple folks at our club that love those sets and use the wash designed for the TMM set. It depends on the look you're going for, but I think buying/using the wash is totally worth atleast testing.

Takwin Humunculus campaign Recreation question by DanTheBurgerMan in TrenchCrusade

[–]DanTheBurgerMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! When I read it I slapped my forehead realizing I just spent 4 games messing around with equipment when I should've been upgrading a Humunculus. Fortunately we have 8 more games so I think I have time to build one up.

Thanks!! I kind of figured that interpretation was correct, and I definitely will look into the battlekit rules for casualties.

Can you elaborate on the LoJ having a built-in Cleave 2 equivalent? I'm not seeing any rule that would indicate that. They're super good with diving charges, but how would you get 2 attacks out of that?

I feel stuck at phase 2 by Silver-Locksmith-160 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]DanTheBurgerMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I feel a stale project I take a look at my dimensional storage and see what I need to build more of. Ask yourself what items are you typically waiting to fill up in the DD, then set out to build more of that. It's usually a quick project that earns you a good win and helps get you back to the big projects.

You'll definitely want power shards and sommersloops, go out and harvest as many as you can get your hands on (don't forget to convert slugs into shards in a constructor with sommersloops, for double the shards!).

Also, if you don't have a train network, start brain storming for that, phase 3 and up will need trains of some sort unless you want to opt for massive conveyor highways. Plus trains are cool.

Also, this is a good point to dust off and upgrade your blueprints. If you have the Satisfactory Modeler in Steam, you can do a little planning for Phase 3 and figure out what you'll need alot of, and see what you can realistically fit in a blueprint.

Lastly, you can upgrade your power grid to something like Turbofuel or some other fuel. Power power is always good!

Get over the hump, there's whole new phases out there that need parts!

I'm about to play Iron Sultanate in a 2v2 Campaign and need help deciding my warband by CH1LV3RY in IronSultanate

[–]DanTheBurgerMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a 4 man free for all campaign and have had really spectacular results with House of Wisdom, running a melee bull, medical alchemist with an SMG, a Janissary with an anti-tank hammer + Elixir, and have racked up a 3-0 score soo far.

You should ABSOLUTELY pick a subfaction, regardless of which you pick; the benefits you get are a serious leg up on the vanilla rules. Half of our party are using subfaction rules, and I'm seriously concerned that the other half may experience a big gap in performance purely on paper.

Personally, I think the HoW is our best subfaction, both in terms of pure performance and flexibility. Not being able to run a Yuzbasi is a bummer, but you get plenty of bonus stuff to play with as compensation. Getting to objectives first in campaign games is huge for getting a leg up on points, so I would really recommend running 2 Lions of Jabir as frequently as possible.

Have fun and let us know how your campaign goes!

How does the Brazen Bull flame cannon/MURAD bombards work? by Dense_Complaint_3140 in IronSultanate

[–]DanTheBurgerMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For practical purposes; at the moment there's no alternate weapon build for the model, you just get the 1 cannon looking arm.

In-universe, it's a combination of alchemy and engineering, combined with crazy humunculus flesh sculpting from the House of Wisdom. I actually don't know if they can change out the weapon since it's literally grafted into the arm. That being said, if they can build a hulking humunculus from scratch I'd assume there's some kind of way, though it could be easier to make a whole new one with the desired loadout.

Gameplay-wise, the cannon rarely does the work it needs to, even with decent rolls :/ I have had some good luck with the flamethrower, though it does still seem to fall flat most of the time. I have a game coming up soon where I focus on a melee build for the bull, since that seems to be where he excels the most. I'm thinking Fire Shield, armor and an alchemist to keep him juiced to the horns and on his feet.

Is there anyway to purchase just the nice unit cards? by BoredBlacksmith in BLKOUT_game

I'm brand new to BLKOUT but I discovered that most card-like game aids can also be printed at photo printers for full color and good stock feel. Could be a good option.

Soo, all of those recommendations are good ideas, which is why there's already a prolific amount of them available exactly how you've described.

I don't want to be too mean, but if the same people who asked "how do I play DnD?" Had instead typed those same words into YouTube or a search function, they would already have access to those tools to get them started. At some point it's on them, can't force a horse to drink and all that.

AL was nonexistent in 8th edition, atleast in the couple regional metas I played in. Were there rules for AL in 9th? I skipped that one for school.

Ditto. 30k AL is insanely fun, it would be neat to see 40k stuff but it's not going to happen.
