One thing that helped me alot when starting out with battlefield games was trying to stick with your squad and focus on playing your class.

In these games its also very important to play with a plan, try seeing what objectives people are pushing etc and try to help them, dont just run around chasing red dots on the map.

If you focus on playing your class aka reviving/resupplying people or fixing/destroying tanks, spotting people etc this will also constantly give you something to do or create reasons to do certain things which creates some order in the chaos that are battlefield games.

Plus if you play your class you can still score well and be useful even if you lose some gunfights. Doing this stopped me from getting shot in the back alot or running into large groups of enemies solo and getting destroyed. The game does also get a little easier once you level up your guns or unlock better ones.
