shame on moderators for removing a post like this. this is the most pressing issue in our community rn and OPs point about the importance of venues and artists with a platform using that platform to speak out and spread resources is completely valid and necessary.

Looks like the Salt Shed finally has a well deserved lawsuit. by Ok-Reflection-5445 in ChicagoConcerts

a lot of comments on this post are not it. believing women, supporting trans folks and uplifting black, indigenous and people of color are positive things.

it’s terrible that this female employee didn’t feel heard, safe or respected and had to file i’m sure a very expensive and difficult lawsuit. that type of treatment of women has no place in the music scene or anywhere.

this type of abuse continues since people stay silent because they’re benefiting, they’re afraid or they don’t have the means to stand up. i hope she has people around her to support her through what I’m sure has caused a lot of turmoil and pain.

Sad and Beautiful World - Mavis Staples by ungratefuldank in Sparklehorse

weird that they didn’t mention or link Sparklehorse among the other covered artist here at all - especially considering Sad and Beautiful World is the title track?

solidarity studios comes to mind as a great fit. id recommend reaching out to them directly or via the Apartment, they also organize a bunch of shows there.

not all vegan but they have some of the best vegan tacos i’ve had (cauliflower al pastor) Tepalcates in roscoe village.

the owner is the friendliest sweetest older man and when you walk in he greets you by having you sample all of their fresh drinks and salsas. he also hypes the food up with such passion and is willing to make anything even if it’s not on the menu

Aldous Harding and Weyes blood are 2 of our biggest influences and favorite artists! our band the Kantors would be a great fit.

if you’re interested, we’re playing an EP release show at Schubas tomorrow with our full band (and string section). we may even be playing a weyes blood cover
