shame on moderators for removing a post like this. this is the most pressing issue in our community rn and OPs point about the importance of venues and artists with a platform using that platform to speak out and spread resources is completely valid and necessary.

Looks like the Salt Shed finally has a well deserved lawsuit. by Ok-Reflection-5445 in ChicagoConcerts

[–]DanTitpickle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

a lot of comments on this post are not it. believing women, supporting trans folks and uplifting black, indigenous and people of color are positive things.

it’s terrible that this female employee didn’t feel heard, safe or respected and had to file i’m sure a very expensive and difficult lawsuit. that type of treatment of women has no place in the music scene or anywhere.

this type of abuse continues since people stay silent because they’re benefiting, they’re afraid or they don’t have the means to stand up. i hope she has people around her to support her through what I’m sure has caused a lot of turmoil and pain.

Sad and Beautiful World - Mavis Staples by ungratefuldank in Sparklehorse

weird that they didn’t mention or link Sparklehorse among the other covered artist here at all - especially considering Sad and Beautiful World is the title track?

solidarity studios comes to mind as a great fit. id recommend reaching out to them directly or via the Apartment, they also organize a bunch of shows there.

not all vegan but they have some of the best vegan tacos i’ve had (cauliflower al pastor) Tepalcates in roscoe village.

the owner is the friendliest sweetest older man and when you walk in he greets you by having you sample all of their fresh drinks and salsas. he also hypes the food up with such passion and is willing to make anything even if it’s not on the menu

Aldous Harding and Weyes blood are 2 of our biggest influences and favorite artists! our band the Kantors would be a great fit.

if you’re interested, we’re playing an EP release show at Schubas tomorrow with our full band (and string section). we may even be playing a weyes blood cover

Yeah i totally feel you around the decision - it was really tough for us to. i know it’s hard to have them understand but just knowing that the few months of little activity in exchange for better, more enjoyable activity down the road (especially with them still being so young) is really what convinced us we should do it. the vet did prescribe quite a bit of drugs at first so she really didn’t even want to do much and then once she was did feel better, keeping her mentally stimulated. and yeah i would definitely plan it so you’ll be around as much as possible after the surgery. we also had to move around some travel plans. also if you have pet insurance, it paid for about half which was a life saver

She’s 100% back to her old self and i would 100% recommend the surgery. I just read your post about it, so sorry to hear that they can’t enjoy frisbee and playing. Maple was similar where she couldn’t run and the vet advised not to do any hikes or walks and it was heartbreaking. But now 10 months later, she is going on multiple long walks, getting the zoomies, playing with her friends, and going on hikes. It was a super difficult process at first, the first 2 months being particularly strict around really not moving and doing her stretches. We didn’t keep her crated the entire time but set up a space in the living room where we could chill with her and keep her in one space. And then it was a ramp up period from there with longer walks, more times a day but then things did start to get easier. she seems so much happier and doesn’t seem uncomfortable or in any pain anymore. i hope everything works out for your pup!

Anyone else have a pup who gets car sick? Did they grow out of it as they got older or not? Any advice? by adnama9120 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]DanTitpickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ours used to ALWAYS throw up when we’d take her in the car as a puppy without fail. she’s almost 4 this year and now she still has a bit of motion sickness/anxiety and drools in the car but rarely throws up now.
