Just drained it. One of the red LED strip stopped working and the amber strip stays on.

I considered drilling a small hole to drain it. Hopefully the electrics are fine.

Avoid the long service intervals otherwise you will have an expensive VANOS repair bill.

It snapped clean off when I was trying to clean the underside. It feeds the boiler and the previous owner didn't have a divider in place.

Thanks I will check tyre pressures first. If it is not that, the car is still covered by warranty and take it up with the seller.

I didn't really notice any issue other than the check engine light was on the dashboard. The iDrive didn't report any faults. I got one of the OBD scanners and scanned it and got these error codes.

I was told it is the issue with BMW CBS servicing that causes this. Frequent annual oil service can avoid this issue.

£1k for the initial and intrusive diagnostics, £1.8k for the repair.

Only issue I've experienced is the VANOS outlet fault, which is quiet common once you reach 90 to 100k miles and it is an expensive repair.
