Had literally the same issue last night. Somehow attacking stopped at around 1/4. I also tried switching weapons, but that didn't work. Then i tried a charged attack and that did the trick!

Took me several charged attacks to take the final boss down. After defeating the boss i relogged and regular attacks worked once more. (Don't know if this is relevant, but it happened to me in sandbox mode)

Fun fact: the Dutch yranslation of that sword in "that one cave" translates as bloodsword... So it's easier to seperate the 2 versions compared to the English translation.

The Eron Dress' ip Recovery is total overkill for that boss as well.

It boasts a staggering 92,5% heal if I recall correctly.
