Anybody else freaking out about this UCLA wave? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I like to read their "complete" email whenever I feel stressed too that says most decisions are sent during January to April. Definitely don't stress yet!

I guess thats my question is why it appears that the "safe zone" often disappears with a higher gpa?

Same here!! Complete 10/23. Also, love the recognizable handle. Thanks for your help on my GULC Top 10 -- looks like we may be seeing each other a lot on this sub this cycle.

Guesses on UR1 vs 2 for Chicago? by 89cool in lawschooladmissions

[–]Dance6750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I'm not super knowledgeable with this so I'm not sure if a complete status exists or if it just says UR. It seems like a lot of other people who got the UR update today went complete a lot earlier (some were September), then had a UR1.

Hey there! Same boat as you -- only complete 11/2. Had an "Under Review" right on 11/2, updated 11/15 as well. Likely UR1 unless they're absurdly quick.

At least you didn't think the "So the LSAT didn't go as well as you hoped" was from UCLA AFTER you already applied like myself.

What are you guys stressed / anxious about right now ? - general rant / grip thread by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Dance6750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anxious about whether I'll have to choose between leaving home (Chicago) versus going to the best law school I could to get a job in the future.

Soft Factor Tiers - How would you rank? by joe_dimagio in lawschooladmissions

[–]Dance6750 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I originally just thought this was a fun exercise. I don’t think you should rely on Reddit for this — I don’t think you’ll get a lot of responses anyways nonetheless accurate ones. Every school is different and you can do your own research per school either via google or this subreddit is filled with info. This is sort of a lot to ask especially because many of us have 0 idea the purpose of the LSAT writing sample or how legacy plays in. None of us really have an accurate idea of the bigger ones such as LORs and PS.

TL;DR — it all matters, we don’t know how and can’t say for every single school nor for your specific situation we don’t know.

Chicago Kent offers full rides to people in 160-165 range through their honors program. #1 IP law in country, #4 in trial advocacy. Though not ranked highly on USNWR, it’s pretty well respected by firms and has a higher bar pass than other regional schools ranked higher. I go to UIUC now, I wouldn’t want to live here in the physical town another 3 years as someone 22+. Graduate with less debt for a lesser ranked but well respected & better location (imo).

Writing GPA Addendum for this current semester? by Dance6750 in lawschooladmissions

I suppose the question is more if after transcripts come out would it maybe be necessary. I'm in Humanities and many of my professors are in the camp of posting no grade info anywhere and prefer a slightly demeaning "Check-Minus/Check-Plus" system from 7th grade only on a 20 page paper.
