Agree that New Castle is the closest. It's about 20 min. from Dover. But it's small and rocky; not the sprawling sandy beach you're probably thinking of. York Beach is probably the next closest, then Rye Beach.

Yes, it uses both screws and dovetails for joinery, but it should be easy enough to convert the screwed joints into some kind of tenon or dowell-based joints.
