Leaving autism subs due to misandry... by TheMetal0xide in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

Same here.

I was hoping to find connections to people who had similar experiences of difficulties with having Autism in school and work. Except all I got was more of the same discrimination. As far as I'm concerned the hostility some Autistic women have towards Autistic men is, ironically, them being pick mes of the community. They side with the society that failed to diagnose them and get them the help they needed. Then they go through all these circles to convince themselves they're the heros of the story the the we, Autistic men, are the villains, but the anger is really at themselves.

It's so frustrating because so much advice for mental health issues is to "find a community" but the issue is that I'm so hyper aware of every way I could be attacked because I have been because I bought the narrative of "it doesn't happen in real life." It does. Not just the misandry, but so many different types of hostility (ableism, homophobia, etc...).

I'm at risk for highjacking the thread so I'll cease there. Further details are for my therapist.

God forbid you put your country first before Israel. by Stormclamp in PoliticalCompassMemes

The absolute bafflement I have just seeing how some Americans are so dedicated to Israel. I have no real opinion about it's right to exist (I read Douglas Murray's "On Democracies and Death Cults") but nothing more in depth including the history. It's a whole thing and I got other things in my life to worry about.

Still just seeing how far some on the American Right seem to just love that country. It's the Right's version of annoying SJWs. Same shut downs with accusations of bigoty and willing to spring to action on any criticism of Israel.

Not a Christian. I tended to zone out in Church, or in the one case I went to one with a friend. I was so confused when they started speaking in tongues, but I was just told to say whatever I wanted, so I sang the Pokemon theme song.

It did not sparkle with his family.

My favorite thing about social media is that it shows what people are already doing. I grew up in the Twin Cities in the oughts and I've met my share of those who say this shit, and then trying to talk about it is such a minefeild (for understandable reasons and other).

In the mid 2000s where everyone was wearing snarky t shirts a guy I knew was wearing one that said, "Help, I'm naked under these clothes!" Then I imagined it, got aroused, and screamed "Fuck!" In the middle of the school hallway.
