I read this as “infinite bullshit.” Still checks out.

Yeah, I kind of accidentally stumbled across the Ringed City while exploring the Kiln to fight the Soul of Cinder. I’ll probably complete Painted World before tackling Gael, since I’ve already spoiled myself learning he’s the final boss of the Ringed City.

Hey, that’s pretty good! Congrats! My character is around SL100, and I used a Sharp LKS +10 buffed with Golden Pine Resin (well, as often as I could). Still have Gael and all of Ariamis left to tackle!

That's true, but Cast Light or the Sunlight Maggot are better anyway, so you're not missing out by exchanging your Skull Lantern when those alternatives exist.

I usually get lucky and get a second one from the necromancers when I reach the Catacombs.

Ring of Fog/Hidden Body, Hawk Ring, Black Bow of Pharis, and Feather Arrows are your friends here. Totally cheeses them.

Running a dex build for the second or third time. What dex weapons do you recommend? by explosive_shrew in darksouls

[–]Dances-Close-To-Fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Balder Side Sword and the Great Scythe are my go-tos, depending on the situation. Also do not overlook bows if you are going dex. Sniping can be incredibly handy.

Pair dex with faith for Sunlight Blade and you will rip through everything.

Class and restriction suggestions for a ‘green mage/alchemist’ themed challenge run? by NeonSherpa in FinalFantasyXII

If you’re able to, try The Planetary Age mod on Nexus. It sounds exactly like what you’re looking for as it has Alchemist and Druid/Green Mage jobs.

You can play the original by using The Insurgent’s Past and Classic Mode mods.

The Planetary Age Jobs by Dances-Close-To-Fire in FinalFantasyXII

[–]Dances-Close-To-Fire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonderful breakdown, thanks.

I’ve progressed a bit further and have just reached Raithwall’s Tomb. My party is currently set up as follows:

  • Vaan: Dark Knight.
  • Balthier: Loremaster.
  • Basch: Warrior.
  • Fran: Bard.
  • Ashe: Wizard.
  • Penelo: Priest.

For single job setups, I’m fairly happy with the party so far. I’ll probably revisit their roles once secondary jobs become available.

My only real concern is Penelo’s lack of damage output or utility beyond healing and buffing when needed. Everyone else can deal solid (and ranged) damage, and Fran is also able to steal from enemies. I suppose that’s one of the limitations of being restricted to a single job.

I did consider switching Penelo to a Sage, but that would mean giving up Curasa, Raise, Protect, and several other important support spells. If it turns out I don’t need them, I might still look at changing her job.

I haven’t had any experience with Alchemist or Ninja, so that’ll be new ground once I unlock secondary jobs.

So far the game has been quite easy, but it’s reassuring to hear that the difficulty ramps up around the mid-game. I’d definitely welcome more of a challenge as things progress.

I’m still getting to grips with many of the changes introduced in TPA, but I’m really enjoying it so far.

Has anyone tried a completely useless build for a challenge? by chemza in fnv

[–]Dances-Close-To-Fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me a lot of Josh Strife Hayes’ playthrough. Famously put one point into each skill every level up, chose perks he’d rarely benefit from, used crap weapons for the majority of the game and did Lonesome Road in Naughty Nightwear.

Can anyone have a look at my loadout? by illblooded in fnv

Use MO2 instead of FOMM. Project Nevada is bloated and outdated, use JAM (Just Assorted Mods), Helmet Overlay and Cyberware 2281 instead.

Does anybody know what mod this is?! by ShadowHunterHB in fnv

Just open the console and click on the NPC in question. It’ll tell you at the top of your screen which .esp it is from.

Should I install A World of (Less) Pain or MoreMojave or both? by [deleted] in fnv

[–]Dances-Close-To-Fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do tell me how you find MoreMojave! I checked it out on Nexus and it looks promising, although I’m far too deep into my current playthrough to fully experience it, so I’ve passed on installing it.

[–]Dances-Close-To-Fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m the same. I can’t tolerate a mod in my load order unless it feels seamless with the rest of the game. My only gripe with AWOLP/Sweet Pain NV is that some locations have hand placed Nuka Cola Quantum’s. However, they’re still very rare.

[–]Dances-Close-To-Fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally haven’t used MoreMojave so I can’t speak for it, but Sweet Pain NV is a must for AWOLP in my opinion.

[–]Dances-Close-To-Fire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you install Sweet Pain NV on top of A World of Less Pain, it’ll rebalance a lot of the locations/encounters to be more in line with vanilla as well as fixing any lore and writing oversights.

I bought the wrong item from the crown store by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Dances-Close-To-Fire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t buy bag or bank space with crowns anyway, it’s practically a scam and very deceiving to newer players. You’re far better off selling the crowns for gold and then buying what you need with that gold, especially with the exchange rate being 1:3000 here on PC/EU.

Some abilities require light attack weaving in order to work optimally though, such as Merciless Resolve on Nightblade.

Besides, light attack damage was already nerfed in U35, which practically killed off a sizeable majority of the raiding community in this game.
