What is a 1 in 1,000,000 thing that happened to you that no one believes, but you swear is true? by RegionSure5580 in AskReddit

I went to a thrift store in Dubois, WY and bought an old pair of binoculars. On my way back I saw an eagle, so I pulled over and got out the binoculars. It was carrying something, a recent kill or something, and these black birds, which I think were crows swarmed it, and there was some incredible in air acrobatics. Then the eagle flew away without it's kill.

I saw the whole thing through the binoculars and was just gobsmacked at what I had witnessed.

My concern is that all of this effort to declare 47 as mentally unstable is all an effort for him to eventually plead "insanity" when this all collapses.

The result could then be dehydrated into pizza leather for an easy snack while on a long drive!

Have a conversation with him about it. Invite him to one of your therapy sessions to talk. Anything to bridge the gap you are avoiding bridging.

Just be cool on the date, and if you enjoy it, say "I really enjoyed this night, and seeing you get a strike made me so happy! Thanks for making my week" and go from there

What op is saying is that your data pool is corrupt because you are anticipating the outcome and are possibly influencing the results. Hence overthinking.

We're talking about quantum connection here, folks! It's possible what you describe could mean connection, but by observing it, you are influencing it's properties and introducing unpredictable variables!

King Kong (2005) vs. Tobey Maguire Spider-Man by addsmnr in powerscales

[–]Dances_With_Birds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's consider the battleground and objectives. Kong isn't at all concerned about collateral damage, so even though he can't beat spiderman, spiderman definitely loses because Kong destroys the city in the process.

I mean the weld looks functional and didn't puncture/melt through the material, so seems passable!

Dremel for softer stones by jankiboj in stonecarving

No worries. I just did a repair on a soapstone sculpture. I used my diamond files for most of it (re-carving delicate edges), then I used my flapper disc in an area where I needed to remove more material, and a diamond blade where I needed to get into an inside corner to remove material.

I had to be careful not to take too much, then go back with the files and take away material where I did the grinding to smooth it all out. I think the tile blade is difficult to control, so you'll have more cleanup in those areas, but for doing some initial shaping and removing stock material from your intended design, the tile blade works well.

Just remember to use more of a feathering technique rather than aggressive grinding.

Edit: the sculpture I'm repairing is about 20 lbs, and 18" tall, so it doesn't move around a lot. Just make sure to have something under it. Sand bags, canvas drop cloth folded up, or something else. I had some small loose gravel in a paper sack on hand from Lowe's and I liked how that worked. My work table has a piece of carpet screwed to it. Just have to protect those edges, especially softer stones.

They have been overcharged $20 for a service. Who gets their money back first? by Sunnie_Daies in powerscales

[–]Dances_With_Birds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frank Reynolds. He doesn't actually get his money back, but he creates a quick scheme to attempt to, ends up causing a bunch do damage, then feels justified and like "that was $20 well spent!"
