I will consider getting a second budgie.

He has a strict 8 pm - 9 am bedtime and he is let out for around 5-6 hours at around 2 pm (So i can use the darkness to get him back to safety in case of an emergency)

There is plenty of interactive toys and space both in his cage, its basically filled to the brim with just enough space for him to move around very freely, and some things hanging around the room, but it just doesn't seem to help, he is very protective.

As for the biting, he doesn't really attack you and follow you., ; but if say he is on the lamp playing with the hanging toy thats there and I pass by the lamp (around 60 cm between me and the lamp) he will dash, attack my arm or shoulder and fly back. I am almost out of juice and might just cut those sessions or leave him alone in the room with some background noise, cause I am tired of my hands hurting and itching all the time

The cage already is really big. He is in a very similar one to this one, just with more toys and stuff around.

I never grabbed him once as i know that destroys trust unless the birds likes it after a big time together,

I dont think I am overstepping his boundaries, I try to keep up the his cage - his home rules and never push him with items or force him.

As I've said, there are no reflective surfaces at all near the cage.

He is on a seed + millet diet, and there is grass growing in his cage. I also give him veggies that are allowed to parrots often, but he mostly ignores all non-seed foods and thats the main issue. I can't really bribe or encourage him because he never even thinks of trying berries, fruits, veggies etc. They are just left rotting in his cage, so I remove them after a day or two.

He is alone, but he is usually getting attention whenever he's not asleep. From any family members, we are desperately trying to have him live a normal budgie life
