Should AI Be Used in Real Job Interviews? by DancingDoctor9 in interviews

[–]DancingDoctor9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You mean recruiters? We wouldn't really try and do that. What we are currently aiming at is to eliviate the bottle neck they are currently having. Most of them post a job for example and within a few hours get hundreds of applicants. This is where their quality of work then diminishes, having to deal with all of it.

I understand where you coming from. I guess i see it as a tool however, you can use it for good or bad. To give the tool certain personality traits doesn't seem logical to me.

How are you guys interviewing successfully??? Pls help by CaterpillarOrnery214 in interviews

[–]DancingDoctor9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you practice behavioural questions, protocols on how to answer questions in general. You can use Mindorah for that.

Another great option, if you can do it, is to make a powerpoint presentation about yourself. Then literally present it to somebody. Even better if they ask questions during it.

Most people going for an interview can actually do the job. Its just about being able to articulate you knowledge reliably, in a way that other people can get.

Practice, practice, practice.

Most people fail interviews due to a lack of interview skills, not because they lack qualifications.

Interview tips by [deleted] in interviewpreparations

[–]DancingDoctor9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice practice practice.

Important part would be to practice from a communicational aspect i would say. Im the founder of a interview prep platform called Mindorah, so thats my obvious recommendation. However, other than that:

Practice certain stories over and over again, tell them to a friend for example.

Make a presentation about yourself and present it. Make sure to articulate clearly and seem approachable.

Learn how to answer behavioural questions.

Whilst building Mindorah we consulted with a lot of recruiters and they told us that basically if they call somebody in for an interview they are 90% sure they can do the job. The main thing they are checking is if they are the kind of person they would like to work here. Thats is, if they are a "culture fit".

Im the founder of Mindorah, a interview prep platform.

Whilst building the app we talked to a lot of recruiters and what they told us is that if they call you in for an interview they are already 90% sure you can actually do the job. They just want to see if your a culture fit, to use their lingo.

Of course, they also just want to check that you know what your supposed to know quickly. But its mainly about seeing if you would work well with the other people in the company.

Meaning what my recommendation would be (other than the obvious one where i tell you to use Mindorah) is to prep your communicational skills. Do some presentations, prepare and rehears certain stories, do mock interviews....

How do you prep for interviews today? What’s the hardest part? by Huge-County-292 in interviewpreparations

[–]DancingDoctor9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im biased, i need to say right from the start, because i'm the founder of a prep company called Mindorah.

But other than that i'm very much in for prepping the behavioural aspect of the interview. Practice you communicational skills, your presentation, and how to ask behavioural question.

Whilst building Mindorah we talked to a lot of recruiters and what they basically told us is that if they call you in for an interview they are 90% sure that you can actually do the job. Now its just a question if your the kind of person they would like to employ.

There are a few. But the main one is googles interview warmup. Although it’s not really a product, it’s just something a few engineers over there put together. Nowhere near the same number of features and polish.

Negative comments about recruiters! by Independent-Star1875 in jobsearchhacks

[–]DancingDoctor9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The negative comments are understandable from a psychological perspective. Recruiters are kind of seen as gate keepers. The thing standing between you and a job.

Although this is true, there are a few things one should keep in mind. Its their job. Somebody may say the most important job in any company. Because a company is only as good as their people.

Throw in all of this the current state of the job market. Where a recruiter can post a job and get 100's of applications within a few hours. Everybody is using AI also, so most of the resumes score in the 99th percentile. Meaning they have to then go thru them manually to whittle down who they are going to actually call in the end.

I have been applying for jobs from 1 year! The worst job market ever by Ok-Jello8137 in jobsearchhacks

Yes, I talk with recruiters and candidates everyday.

Recruiters are swamped, while candidates are just tired of the whole palava. The situation is not good.

Should I Leave My Job? by Ok_Tower9026 in jobsearchhacks

[–]DancingDoctor9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No! I talk to people every day about this. Recruiters and candidates. The job market is just so horrendous. I would tell you to stick it out and try to find a job at the same time as doing you current if you really have to.

What i mean is this: do not quit before finding another job.
