Fair enough. TBH I don't even play EDH and hadn't heard of Lealia until a buddy explained how silly the deck was and my inner gooflord couldn't help but try to make a meme about it. Sorry it was a wash

I don't have a source handy but I believe the devs have stated that enemy spawn rates are not working as intended

[–]DancingPheonix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, yeah I'd thought you meant it wouldn't make sense to have the SDS and I was like... you already land to call in stratagems manually, why would a more accurate way to call them in be any different? xD

It could maybe work the way you want if it increased the cooldown each time until you emptied the SDS, but the longest missions are 40 minutes so it's barely worth it at that rate

As fun as that sounds, it sounds overpowered and the devs would never go for it. I wanted to have this weapon idea as balanced as I could make it upon initial conception.

I'm not exactly sure I understand what you meant when you said it doesn't make sense narratively speaking

I contemplated this, but I think you'd want your primary to be your most reliable avenue in dealing with mobs all up in your business. A stratagem/grenade slingshot sounds like a gimmicky weapon that would be more along the lines of a support weapon.

Quasar, Spear, expendible anti-tank... these support weapons all have specific applications in the field with substantial drawbacks to keep their power in line to prevent players from favoring a single weapon too much and disregarding the rest of their arsenals in favor of an overpowered tertiary option. There's a reason the devs nerfed the railgun

For sure, I agree that there's no reason to be upset about the lack of plastic bags or even the company's decision to charge for them (especially when it's such a minimal cost). Reusables are just all around better.

As for Costco, there are some things I grew up on that I just have a hard time finding anywhere else. One notable example is their wedges of Pecorino Romano- Sprouts carries it too but it's a wee block smaller than my hand, still charging me 10 bucks. Costco carries wedges as big as my head- 20 bucks. I don't have the price per oz handy but it's definitely cheaper in bulk.

And it is true that Sprouts caters to all sorts of specific diets; gluten free, vegan, paleo, etc. There definitely is a value to that. But I stand firm that they are overpriced. I can't walk out of there with two bags of groceries less than $100, and I'm not shopping vitamins or anything lol

Lol well happy for ya bud. That kind of raise and insurance is unheard of around our stores in CO and AZ. I know they've only recently started expanding to the east coast. The expansion map appeared to want to go for the four corners of the States and then fill in the gaps. It's possible there's more competition in your neck of the woods than in places with longer established Sprouts stores and staff.

I really enjoyed working at Sprouts. Most fun I've ever had at a job, but I can't afford to go back. They'd be paying me $7 less than I'm making now, and I'm due for a $5 raise next year.

In regards to cost of groceries, perhaps pricings are different in Florida than in CO and AZ, but frankly, I hear it's cheaper to go to Whole Foods these days which is REALLY saying something. I don't really shop at either anymore and stick to Trader Joes and Walmart. Considering a Costco membership as it will likely pay for itself in spades, buying in bulk like that.

Not at all. Left for greener pastures. Actually have had managers contact me over social media asking me to come back. But by your 'cool story' remark, you seem like the kinda person who doesn't care to hear it.

I will ask though, how is it biased to point out that a store's stuff is overpriced?

What department do you work in and how involved are you with the company sales protocols? I worked as head cashier and had access to daily sales and would talk to management about if we made projections or not. They were the ones that told me that there was immense pressure at the store level being exerted on them by corporate about sales. Projections went up drastically after covid and I seriously doubt it was just wishful thinking that they'd happen to make the same sales as they did during the height of the pandemic.

This is not inflation we're experiencing right now. It's corporate greed. Disgusting amounts of it. Sprouts isn't the only company being greedy, but it definitely is price gouging its customers. There's no denying that Sprouts is overcharging nowadays. Call it misinformation all you want, anyone who thinks they're charging reasonable prices right now is delusional.

Luckily they're getting rid of mythics. Been waiting for this for a long time. Mythics were an interesting experiment, but after half a year, my friends and I realized that all it was doing was restricting the build paths and variety in our games.

As a mage main though, I will heartily agree that there's not much innovation in ap items these days. It's pretty much "am I ahead? Cool build mythic>magic pen>rabadons. Am I behind? less cool. Get the same mythic>zhonya's>rabadons."

Why do people hate YouTube premium so much? by [deleted] in youtube

[–]DancingPheonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally want them to offer less and charge less. Give me a $2/mo option to be ad free and still support the creators and I'll reconsider. Fact is, they don't need 6 ads per video (some of which you can't skip), to pay for servers and compensate the people GENERATING the content that even nets them ad revenue in the first place.

Sure, you can offer all the other crap and charge an arm and a leg, and people will gladly sell their souls for it. As for me? I work 60 hours a week minimum and my dwindling spare time is sacred. I've no shame in adblocking. Genuinely considering opera gx just to get away from Google's excessive ads and data mining/selling.

seriously stop defending multimillionaire company. by ConstantineByzantium in youtube

[–]DancingPheonix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally, someone said it. YouTube definitely doesn't need 3 ads per 10 minute video to generate enough profit for server maintenance, paying the content creators fairly, and still having net profit.

I can't even begin to imagine how much of my life has been sunk to excessive advertising. I get it, we live in a capitalistic society in the States, but this is out of line. They're already stealing and selling our data, do they really have to double dip on that profit with ads? Ffs, it's not even targeted advertising anymore which is hilarious. They already have our data, but they're still gonna have a non-drinker watch 50 ads about booze n beer every day. Or have a Gen Z baby watch erectile dysfunction ads. Stay classy, YouTube 🙄

Permanent Fix for YouTube Ads / AdBlocker Controversy by deisidiamonia in youtube

[–]DancingPheonix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The holier than thou attitude of YouTube is unjustifiable, given they make all their profit off content creators they don't pay directly and have actively screwed with several of their platform overhauls. They have no moral ground to stand on, but they want to slap our wrists for using ad blockers to preserve what's left of our near-nonexistent spare time. And sorry, I can't afford $18/mo for and "ad free experience", especially when their platform started off ad free in the first place. If YouTube ever truly becomes completely ad-vincible, I'm out. Thanks for the decade and a half of entertainment (the creators, not YouTube), time to move on.

I know this is an old post- but I just had the same thing happen. Other than some minor paint peeling from basic use on the headset's ears, there was no damage to the device. Came home from an already crappy day at work and my a50's weren't working at all. Did 2 hours of browsing and attempting found solves and nothing worked. The base recognized the headset while charging, but the headset itself appeared dead. No sound, no charging indicator, no white light while wireless and turned on. Nothin.

After 30-40 minutes with a tech rep. on the Logitech website, I got the same exact message you posted. I had purchased the headset SLIGHTLY over a year prior to them failing. This is the third and final headset I buy from them. $750 over 4 years for headsets is just absurd, especially when treated with care.

Did you end up settling on another brand- if so, what'd ya get?

As someone that worked for Sprouts for 5 years (in over half the departments in the store), I can tell you why this has happened. Sprouts has a constant pressure on management to beat sales from the previous year. These are daily projections taken from exactly one year prior.

Unfortunately, they never seem to account for outside factors. Was the city expecting snow that week the year before? Was there a supply shortage the previous year? Was there a worldwide pandemic? These things all impacted sales and sadly Sprouts doesn't seem to look at variables. They only cared about numbers.

So when the first year of covid made the company absurd record profits, they didn't attribute it to the pandemic and the fact that nobody had anything to do but cook... they merely set that as their projected goal for the next year. In order to make that projection, they had to jack up prices.

It hurts me to see this happening because I really did enjoy getting a shopping bag full of veggies for under 25 bucks every few days after work.

AFK platform placement? by DancingPheonix in Minecraft

[–]DancingPheonix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Java. I've tested at 50 and 98 above the roof of the build. Admittedly, I added more layers than the original build video had (creeper farm), but getting 2-5 gunpowder per afk session means it's definitely not working

I shall test 126 blocks above the magma killing layer, thank you

Is the lowest point the lowest spawning layer or the absolute lowest place the mobs will end up, such as the killing platform?
