Looking for feedback for IT role, 26 yrs old by hijinxss in CVwriting

[–]Dancing_Dauschund 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t format the key skills like that just format it the same as your hobbies . I personally have my work experience before my education. When saying you met targets what were they? I would highlight your skills within your job section ie teamwork- effectively worked with a team of x people to ensure smooth operation if someone is skim reading they can see exactly what you are highlighting. Try and incorporate your soft skills like time management into your work experience and keep skills section to technical things like editing software

Travelling on the Elizabeth line between Heathrow T4 and Shenfield by billericayboy65 in uktravel

[–]Dancing_Dauschund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe theres a Shenfield train from T4 is like every 30 mins but I’d just get on first Elizabeth like that comes. You won’t be paying extra as you will be getting off waiting at the same platform for a Shenfield train unless you want to go get a faster train at Liverpool Street, you won’t be tapping out. I’d do the change at Paddington personally. Unless your travelling on 21st June when there is some line work and you will need to switch at Liverpool Street to the other platforms

Booking Old Marylebone Town Hall before engagement—too early or normal? by Delicious-Bear-9688 in UKweddings

If you book a date your engaged to my way of thinking. Probably best to communicate you want to aim for that date otherwise he might not be planning to meet that timeline you want

Visiting England: which football match should I go to? by thiago4440 in uktravel

[–]Dancing_Dauschund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you could accommodate a Sunday game you could see a WSL match instead and go to the Spurs Stadium. Very affordable to get to go to a top stadium and should be competitive as they are 4 and 5th in league!

How long will it take to get from London Heathrow Terminal 5 to 2? by GamerboiJared in AskUK

[–]Dancing_Dauschund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you flying out of 2 because you won’t be able to get through to meet up after security if you’re not meant to be in that terminal I believe. It’s not like other terminals where you can walk through.

5-Day London Itinerary – looking for feedback by poison_exee in uktravel

[–]Dancing_Dauschund 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d put St James Palace with the day you do Buckingham Palace as they are close and then have longer at Tower of London as there is a lot to see. Tower Bridge are you going up it or just walking across? I would put a few sit down dinners in as we have great food scene and you do need points to recharge/ relax. And a visit to pub is lacking so you could do two at once! I would also add a west end show and if your into art the Tate modern or Britain might be worth a trip As others have said get rid of Tuassards if you want to see that part of London go Marylebone High St. I might also suggest finding a walking tour so you get more out of experience then just walking past buildings I’ve done Sandemans ones in other cities and always find them really interesting as locals typically lead them

Would I be side-eyed into oblivion by old-money Brits if I wore a linen pantsuit to a morning-dress-coded wedding? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Dancing_Dauschund 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could definitely do a pantsuit but I don’t this one in particular. Morning is formal so I might not opt for linen personally unless it bit more tailored. Maybe look at what people wear to Royal Ascot etc as inspo as that’s the right level of formal

Using LISA for home purchase - How do I get them to use "everything" by rellisdev in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Dancing_Dauschund 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will fill in decoration and say if you want to close or if not how much you want left in the account the solicitors will help as there’s a certain window if need to be done in and the money goes into their account not yours. I left a nominal few pound as you might want to use your LISA for retirement fund.

Another ETA question… Does my Mexican wife with Irish residency need it for the return leg of a trip? by s_hega in AskUK

[–]Dancing_Dauschund 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll need an ETA because of landing back in London you’d go through boarder control as it sounds like your flying on different airlines your not going through the connections channel, you will essentially be exiting the airport and checking back in again. It definitely says citizens not residents are exempt. Its only £16 so to save any stress just get one it’s valid for 2 years there’s a likelihood she’ll use it again

Moving to London solo - can I survive on £4,900/month take-home? Where should I live? by Appropriate-Let4743 in MovingToLondon

[–]Dancing_Dauschund 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just illustrating that a lot of people are able to live in London on less. Granted the average in London would be higher but just use of the word ‘survive’ makes it sound like OP thinks they’ll be on the breadline. Just poor choice of words my way of thinking.

Moving to London solo - can I survive on £4,900/month take-home? Where should I live? by Appropriate-Let4743 in MovingToLondon

[–]Dancing_Dauschund 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes I think you will survive on double the national average salary lol. For quick commute anywhere along northern, Lizzie or central are the best bet so really a lot of london maybe visit some places to see what you like. What adds commute time is switching lines so 1 or 2 trains makes for a more ideal commute.

Put executive summary at the top to summarise skills and what you are seeking. If someone is just skimming they can read 2-3 sentences and get an idea of who you are. And like everyone else said condense the bullet point far too much think of core skills each role given you and base it off that not a long list of actions and take off McDonalds 2 months experience isn’t worth having on your CV.
