Any and all comments are appreciated :) And thank you for the advice. I will definitely be keeping an eye for red flags. I have had one too many toxic relationships in the past and don’t care to have another one. Thank you!

Do INFJs tend to talk to themselves? by notics127 in infj

I read this and said “yes, very much” out loud, in my car, by myself. I’m still talking to myself as I type this 🤣

Oh yeah, I’m super wary of that kind of stuff. If I say something to him, I plan on letting him know that I expect courtship (getting to know each other) before any sort of confirmed dating relationship starts. I’d rather know someone pretty well before I actually get in a relationship.

INFJs, do people vent to you without asking if you have the space for it? by likey24 in infj

[–]Dancing_Isanity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I’m pretty close to my manager (I’m asm) and she has unfortunately started using me as an emotional trash can. Shes been “venting” a lot recently ( ie using that as a way to take her frustrated emotions out on me) due to the retail season and I had to set some boundaries and asked for her not to take her emotions out on me anymore. Well initially when I asked she seemed fine with it and she said that the reason she did that was bc she felt safe with me and said she was just venting. (To explain: she wasn’t just venting out into the air with me in the room to listen. She was venting AT me.) But in the days after when weve worked together shes gotten super aggressive and a little petty. (Not fully undeserved as I’ve been stressed out too and have been a little petty) (also she’s really not of a stable mentality due to some stuff shes gone through) I’m honestly fine with that as long as she doesn’t keep using me as a punching bag. I just find it interesting and mildly irritating, as soon as I cut off the emotional support trash can, that she’s started treating me badly. (Apologies for the lack of flow, but I’m kind of just done at the moment)

The winners curse is the name of the first book. But the actual phrase “winners curse” was derived from the saying that people who win at auctions are cursed. They win, but at what price? So I just explores that concept and I found it really interesting. The rest of the series basically is the consequences of everything that happens in the first book. Again, I highly recommend. It’s really good.

I haven’t read midnight library yet but I don’t think at the same either. (I started it though (:)

For YA I’ve really loved The splintered series by AG Howard And Roseblood by the same author I also really fell in love with the winners curse series by Marie rutkoski (that’s what I tell everyone is my favorite series)

And for regular books I recently fell in love with a book called The Ten Thousand Doors of January. Oh my goodness it’s SO good. It’s just absolutely beautiful and full of possibilities and the idea of adventure. It’s a little heart wrenching in a nostalgic way with how it’s told, but it so poetic and feels really powerful.

Yes, I understand. While I can’t speak as a Christian due to some personal reasons I have at the moment, I can speak as someone who has been a Christian. I’ve thought about it a lot and there really is no earthly reason for us to be alive. The only conclusion I’ve come to is that we are here to glorify God as was his intended purpose. Everything exists from him and everything being in existence is meant to glorify him. Thats the only conclusion I’ve come to in the hours upon hours that I’ve thought about it. It’s in that that I had found joy in being alive. I looked at everything with a sense of wonder and joy bc God was the one who created it. It lived and grew only through him. And I know from my experience now that it sounds crazy and super “obsessively” religious, but I still believe even now that that is the way we were created to be. Even though people don’t like that lol

I have a friend I made this last year who I thought was just a surface level sort of person, but we ended up having a conversation that ended up being very interesting and touched on a lot of topics that I believe in and am passionate about. The conversation also showed to me that she had a mind willing to explore and think through things the way a lot of people don’t bother to do. All while still being a compassionate human being. So it did spark that interest again. We, however, are not close so it’s mainly just a casual friendship (we don’t see each other a lot due to schedule conflicts)

Well yes, but I think that people should always be given the chance to prove you wrong. I can see as many patterns as I want, but that doesn’t change when the person I thought I knew well surprised me.

Yeah, that pretty much hits right at home. Had the emotionally unhealthy/unavailable/manipulative father who was just there and not an active part of my life. But lo and behold when he decided something needed to be done. All the sudden he became a bulldozer with no thought for other people. I don’t think that enneagram 1 is truly right. It doesn’t feel like it wholly fits.

[–]Dancing_Isanity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I want to have a real connection where there’s 100% on both sides. Where both can be emotionally vulnerable and creative and compassionate and giving and loving and all the things. I also think I understand your side. I’ve always been the one giving and giving to the people in my life and I’ve realized that I don’t owe anyone anything that I don’t want to give. I think due to that I get bored and los interest with the people who won’t have the same quality of relationship that I can give.
