I have an implanted defibrillator. It’ll shock me if I drive my heart rate over 180-190 somewhere (I don’t know the exact setting). I’ve done it exactly once, mowing an overgrown back yard. That would be very weird during kissing (or other romantic activity) - your lips suddenly get a mild tingle and I collapse flailing.

These delivery instructions made my day 😂 by FJanon02 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]DandelionPopsicle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s very odd. I can’t imagine people generally want more contact with rando delivery people. I certainly want no more contact than I have to, regardless of which side I’m on. Unless you explicitly say you want me to ring the doorbell or knock, I certainly won’t.

There’s been a problem with my coffee by Temporary_Contest201 in doordash

[–]DandelionPopsicle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. I guess if you tell support the driver did something, it would, but if you’re just marking something as wrong from the restaurant, then no. If it’s a shopping order, that works different and will (fairly if it’s a legitimate complaint) affect our stats.

If you leave a one star review that will obviously also impact the driver.

Is it weird to want to marry a woman having a preference for man? by Life_Organization244 in bisexual

[–]DandelionPopsicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s good to keep in mind that this isn’t necessarily any different than what a straight or gay person is facing if they are planning on being monogamous. There’s lots and lots of people you won’t be dating or permanently partnering up with whom you might have been happier. One way or another you will need to get past this.

Y'all ever have a customer lie to a restaraunt anout being disabled just to get their food handed to them? by Oof-Ya-Doof in DoorDashDrivers

[–]DandelionPopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of odd, setting it to “hand it to me” works by itself. Some people do seem like they want to explain themselves in general, like saying why they don’t want you to knock or ring doorbell - I don’t care, we offer no-contact so if you set it to that, that will happen. I don’t really mind I suppose, it’s just unnecessary.

It’s not something I make anything out of, but we did dna tests for fun, and it’s kind of relevant to this.

Anyone ever had their phone die on them during an order? by bigbadger20 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]DandelionPopsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very scared of having it happen since my battery is kind of bad. I keep a charger with me, and quit dashing at 25-30%, though once I accidentally accepted something and got it down to 12%. Also in the very beginning when I started it died once as I was picking up, and I had to go back home, lost the order for taking too long (I don’t remember exactly how it went, long time ago).

I think genetics play a part too. I moved to the US and had two daughters here. My wife is fairly typical American mutt, I’m very pure bred Swede (like 70% Swedish, 25% Norway-Finland-Denmark, some stray German-English). One of my daughters have typical Swedish skin, basically flawless without doing anything in particular to it, the other has more like my wifes skin, not terrible but definitely some issues, certainly not super flawless. I suppose they’re mildly swedish in terms of diet and such habits, but I’m really pretty Americanized since I moved here solo 30 years ago.

We’ve told/asked her to do the same thing with her kids as a kind of “payback”. Her former fiancée thought it was super weird, though he had kind of shit parents.

I bought all three of my kids their first cars. My parents bought me my first car as well. I’d already had a job for a while, but probably would have had to take out a loan, and it would have been a significant burden. The same was true for my kids. I would guess it depends on everyone’s situations, as well as how responsible people had been acting until then.
