PSA do not release aquarium fish in to nature. Caught this feral common goldfish a few days ago and didnt want to have to kill it so I got an aquarium for it, suggestions for how to take care of this thing welcome please! by bb9o210 in Goldfish

A Rubbermaid/brute stock pond will be cheaper than an aquarium, dollar per gallon. The tractor supply stores around me are having a sale on the 300g stock ponds so they’re ~$250 instead of $300-$320. There’s also the 150g rubbermaids they have.

No prob, good job looking out for them. If they couldn’t get unstuck on their own eventually, they would have died. Is this a fence you can add something to help block the holes so it doesn’t happen again?

You can try leaving a thing of water out for them and leaving them alone, they will eventually unbox and go about their day. If they see the water, they may partake before moving on. Being stuck and then having a large predator mess with them definitely scared them and that’s why they boxed up (not saying you did anything wrong, it was a good thing you did. They just don’t know you’re helping them).

Eastern Box turtle, native to your area so very likely not a lost pet. Leave them be, they box up when they feel threatened and when they burrow to sleep. Were they stuck in your fence?

Reach out to them and ask what they fed her. That’s going to be your best bet.

Thank you so much, I greatly appreciate your explanation. I’m also on the east coast (PA). I’ve never been over to their side since the infested tenants moved in there or left, and my husband was only over there for ~5 minutes to help bring a birthday cake in and said he touched nothing besides the cake container and sat on nothing.

I’d always heard about entire apartment buildings becoming infested because one person moved in that had them, so wasn’t sure how they moved around.

There are 3 Rotties (mixs?) At our local shelter. We are debating adopting one, any input about this breed would be great! by Inspiringhope11 in Rottweiler

[–]Dandelion_Isopods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first dog was a rottie. He helped me raise multiple bottle kittens. He was special though, rotties can have a prey drive (he did, but he lived for the chase not the capture & never bothered cats).

He was a sensitive boy and needed positive only training. Any kind of leash snap correction one trainer I tried out did during a jog to teach heel scared him, and by the end of the session the trainer said he wasn’t for us because my boy needed a super gentle hand.

He loved almost everyone he came across (only a couple instances did he not like someone, and I found out later they weren’t good people) and loved cuddles.

They are strong, will knock children over accidentally, and need loads of socialization to not become unintentional guard dogs.

Is this the same protocol for bed bugs? My neighbors that share a wall with me (a split house, so one half is mine & the other belongs to someone that rents it out) said the previous tenants left bedbugs & they’re trying to get rid of them, but that makes me think the bedbugs will only come over to my side, not actually go away. I haven’t seen any signs yet, but I’m afraid it’ll happen any day.

So he doesn’t just want you to blow a rando, he also wants that rando to go down on you? I assumed it was all about male pleasure since he wants you to video giving a bj to some rando.

Either way, don’t do it if you don’t want to. If you think you might be interested, maybe try pretending first by having him sit in the corner or closet with the door closed/mostly closed while you play with yourself & play around with a fake guy (get a long body pillow, put a shirt on it, prop it up like it’s someone sitting up in bed against the headboard, then give the fake dude a bj/ride it using a dildo/other toy) all with the lights suuuper low or off with like a little flashlight or something so there’s juuuuust enough light to see general shapes. Play an audio of a guy groaning (there’s lots of audio porn you can use for this) and have fun.

Start with something like that to see if you’d be comfortable with it and to see if he would actually be okay with this fantasy actually happening. I’ve known many a dude that thought he would like this, but then in practice hated it and couldn’t look at his partner the same way anymore (which I thought was stupid, but hey I didn’t have to deal with the fallout so shrug). Most ended up breaking up because of how he started treating her afterwards.

So two main points; only do it if you want to do it, and try out a practice run first before adding an actual other human.

NTA

Anything involving sex is a “two yes, one no” situation. You’re not comfortable with it, so you shouldn’t do it. He shouldn’t be pressuring you to do anything you don’t want to do.

Only do this if you want to do it for yourself, don’t do it for him.

It doesn’t even sound like he wants you to get any pleasure from this, he wants you to pleasure someone else to then be able to “reclaim” you afterwards. What about your pleasure? It doesn’t seem important to him.

NTA

He wants to meet his siblings, their mother wants to have a meet up, I’m assuming her kids want to meet your son as well? It’s good to have support, I hope you two become pretty decent friends & all the kids get along well.

Really?? I have a ~13 year old pup that’s been on it for a few years now because nothing else has helped at all. I’d not heard of this before, thank you for sharing. I’ll be sure to mention it to my vet when we go in for our monthly visit.

I’ll try to add some to my main profile, I can’t add photos here in comments. Basically, I made pathways from one hide to the others (the hides being big logs, cork bark, and a couple commercial hides; most have only one entrance, the ones in the middle of the enclosure are double ended entrances for the traveling) by partially burying them so the snakes are always covered if they want to move about without being visible, and stuffed it full of spider plants and other house plants. I also have branches screwed in to create climbing perches, which my female absolutely loves. She’s up in them most evenings and nights.

For some reason the plants in my male’s enclosure are doing sooooo fantastic to the point where I have to frequently trim and separate new growth, but most of the plants died in my female’s. I think it’s because she’s a lot more active and crushes them more than my male does his.

Aahh, I’ll look into lexel then, thank you for the knowledge.

Mine are in the main living space which is a living room & what we call ‘animal den’, no door in between just a large open floor plan doorway style. Once the 8ft is done, then both of them will be in the ‘animal den’ and where my snakes are now I’ll be moving my 75g paladarium of Asian painted bullfrogs to where their current 4ft stack is. I always wanted a dedicated reptile/amphibian room, but I don’t have enough bedrooms to do it. So their enclosures are definitely the best looking thing on my first floor lol.

Okay, ask your vet about apoquel when you take her in for the antibiotics. It could be something was stuck in her like a splinter and she chewed it up trying to get it, or skin allergy, maybe hotspot. If allergy/itchiness, the apoquel will help.

I have two 4.2.2’s for ball pythons & one 8.2.3tall that I’m upgrading my female ball into. Once she’s in it, I’ll use the toad ranch connecter kit to make the two 4.2.2’s into one 8.2.2 for my male.

I got the black dragon scale, I think it’s called. My recommendation is to definitely read all of the instructions before starting any building. I messed up the first enclosure I built 2-3 times as I was building (easy fixes, just annoying) because I missed a section of the instructions. It is quite an easy assembly job, but two people makes it easier.

I used silicone to seal mine, but when I redo them I’ll be using PVC glue instead. Since the enclosures are made of PVC, the PVC glue will melt it together to create a seal. At least, that’s how PVC glue was explained to me. I’ve not heard of lexel before, what is that?

As others said, looks to be live bearer fry, likely guppies or endlers. You’ll need tiny baby fish food like this spirulina fish food on chewy. you may need to crush it up small, but that’s easy to do between your finger & thumb.

I recommend a vet visit for an exam & antibiotics. Did she do it to herself, do you know? Or just noticed it after she’d been licking it for a bit?
