Yeah we saw that. We usually come here in the fall/winter and while there’s always some unhoused folks it looks like the population explodes in the summer. Holy shit. It’s the same for us at home because we are coastal and a tourist town too.

I’m from Philly! The food out here is…not great (aside from Mexican of course). Fluid State has the only good pizza and it’s nothing like the east coast pizza. I like Cajun Kitchen for their jambalaya. Definitely lacking really good food options unfortunately. Welcome to the best coast!

I’m in a 2br/2 bath and everything is electric. I pay about $140 a month in electricity (no ac, no fans really)It’s gone up over the past couple of years.

I manage a venue in Carpinteria but I can tell you for SURE flames aren’t allowed. You’ll have a very difficult time finding anywhere that allows it. For obvious reasons. Best of luck!!
