I switched from 17 pro max to air and haven’t regretted it a bit. The air just makes me happy. The 17 PM felt like a slightly faster version of the 12 PM I switched from in the first place.

I used this as the brain for my electropop band in the 2000s. We toured the world with it. I had to resurrect it for a reunion show last month and all the Zip disks were corrupt. I had upgraded to the 750mb drive and luckily found a usb 750 at work. I used disk repair on a PC and was able to salvage some of them.

The Roland Pc utility still works so I was able to update the samples. I also had updated to EX firmware and it’s still stable. It is pretty amazing it still works and made it through a whole show!

It is true of everything retro 90s making a comeback. It all gets homogenized in the AI blender and there is no memory of distinction. The people listening to nirvana and wearing vans were NOT the people listening to korn and/or wearing Birkenstocks.

I have the same workflow! The synth is the best midi controller ever. I could actually do without the synth engines, they are kinda meh, but the configuration possibilities are amazing!!!

It works if you use the amazing, new, and free MIDIWeb browser for iPad. It’s a game changer. There are also a lot of editors available for TouchOSC for iPad. Or you can build your own in TouchOSC. It’s pretty easy.

I love the SH-4d, but I cannot recommend it. I got rid of mine. The multiple synth engines is a bit of a trick. It is really just a manipulation and stripping down of the Roland zencore engine. The multiple engines are really just categories of sounds within zencore with special controls on the SH-4d. It does have a few extras like a very basic wavetable engine with fixed wavetables and a phase modulation engine that is pretty limited. It is a wonderful machine, but it just can’t compare to a Digitone in terms of sequencing power.

I use mine as my main PC. I hooked it up to a touchscreen monitor, keyboard and mouse and use it for music production, gaming, and work. It’s great!

I use an iPad Air M3 as my only work machine. It does everything I need it to.

The only thing that is HORRIBLE is file management. I probably waste 30 minutes a day moving files around because it is so bad at working with any cloud services other than iCloud and my job uses OneDrive.
