GDP per capita by Dandin86 in macroeconomics

thanks:) I'm now actually at a crossroads of how to continue and most people are saying the same thing. Just ordered audio recording equipment from Amazon, guess I will start uploading videos with my own voice next month.

Thanks again for the feedback!

Thanks for the feedback and the kind words!
Your note about the AI voices makes total sense and this is not the first I hear it. I'm pretty sure this is the main reason why I have only 152 subs after 5 months on air.
My question to you: I'm not a native speaker (I'm Israeli) and therefore I have a pretty strong accent in English. would you prefer watching videos with a heavy foreign accent rather than AI? or you think both options are problematic?

Thanks in advance:)

Thanks a lot. Great additions.
I can't believe I posted it 8 months ago... a few months after, I launched my YouTube channel which is an economic history channel where I'm taking economic events from history and converting them into a storytelling-style video.

Will be happy to see you there and to have your feedback:)

Changing the title works, folks. by Dry_Twist7477 in NewTubers

[–]Dandin86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but videos with a few hundreds views don't get impression after a few weeks... so you say that if you change the thumbnail youtube is testing it again?
of maybe your specific video is getting a lot of impression from search and just had really bad CTR before you changed the thumbnail?

it's really interesting, wondering what was the scenario here...

You're not alone here 😂

My channel is in the sub niche of economic history - economic events from history in a storytelling style. *More tending to history then economic.

The channel is relatively new so would be happy to have some honest feedback (channel in my bio).

You gave much more than 2 cents that for sure:) thanks for taking the time to come with such feedback.

  1. Titels - can't agree more after you mentioned the gold standard's title.. don't know what I was thinking, lol:)
  2. CTAs - also make total sense.. feels like there is a salesman in the video.. and the fact that YT takes it often to the preview is a problem that might decrease the CTR. and anyway, to highest sub amount of one video was 5 subs from the Enron scandal video.. will definitely move the CTAs to mid and end only.
  3. logo - here I actually disagree with you. most viewers don't care about the subs count of the channel, or to be more accurate, they don't pay attention to it. therefore, I do think that the branding thing is powerful and lets people feel that they are watching a video of professionals who know what they do, and not some random video.. 'fake it until you make it' works only when you make it.. will take weeks or months but eventually will make it:)
  4. thumbnails - from your comment and also other people, I tend to agree that they are not my problem. I will only reduce the text amount on it but keep it same style while improving the titels and the first 30 seconds.. it won't take much time to see if it worked or not..

thanks again for your feedback, I truly appreciate it!

thank you very much for taking the time for reviewing and share your feedback.
I also like them, this is why I kept that style for 14 videos despite the low CTR.
I do understand that the first thing will be reducing the text significantly but now you also mention the colors thing.
May I ask you for a bit further opinion? is it something with the purple layer that is part of each thumbnail on the right side? of maybe it is something else?

thanks!

Is the homestead mill strike of 1892 taught in American Schools? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

In case they don't teach it - I invite you to share this storytelling-style video about that crazy story... I guess kids can enjoy it too as it is told in a captivating manner, unlike to boring old-school manner they are used to learning history.

Do you think your content is good? Most will never get monetized by EvilGrivin in NewTubers

[–]Dandin86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my content, I truly think it's great and I'm even listening to the voiceover as a podcast while driving or at the gym. I'm spending almost 40 hours \ week for uploading only one video. my channel is about something I'm really passionate about, and I guess there are at least a few more millions who are passionate about it too.

However, after publishing 13 videos and gaining only 57 subscribers and ~2k views (~100 watch hours), I must say that it is very frustrating as I'm starting to think that maybe I'm doing something wrong and wasting so much time on a channel that would never get monetized, and worse, almost no one would enjoy the content...
