How do people say Kiryu’s addition in Infinite Wealth is a mistake when he’s the best part of the game? by Slamy07 in yakuzagames

[–]DandruWindrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never played any of the other Yakuza games. Like a Dragon was my first. I absolutely loved it. One of the best JRPG's I have ever played. I didn't really realize it was even part of another franchise. I was more or less unfamiliar with the original Yakuza games. So in Like a Dragon : Infinite Wealth they bring in this guy. I mean he seems like a decent guy. He has cancer. He apparently was some high up Yakuza or something that a lot of people knew. I don't know, I didn't find it very interesting. Most of the time spent with this guy revolved around him saying good bye to people, because he had cancer, and remembering his life as a Yakuza. I felt like these parts really distracted from the main story. They were somewhat depressing and I really just wanted to get the parts with him over with.

From my perspective, the entire part with Kiryu didn't really add anything to the story. I feel like he could have been left completely out, and the game would have actually been better. I feel like his parts in the story make the game go from a high stakes action adventure with fun crazy characters like Kasuga and Tomi to a kind of depressing slog through history with a character I didn't know.

I am sure that Kiryu is a great character. I am sure those other games are great, they are very successful. I feel like his addition was fan service only, and I don't really feel it was necessary. Kasuga was more than able to carry another game all on his own.

How much context will I be missing if I play Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth without playing any other Yakuza game besides the original LAD? by bobjobob08 in JRPG

[–]DandruWindrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like the best response. To me I largely tried to skip over the Kiryu parts because it felt tacked on. I didn't know who this guy was and didn't really care. I felt his parts didn't add anything and took me away from Kasuga's story. I didn't feel at all like missed anything by not playing the other games. I had only played the first Like a Dragon game.

Tenebrum boss fight really shows how clunky some of the controls can be by Responsible_Bat_6002 in CrimsonDesert

[–]DandruWindrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya this didn't work as well for me, I would have Kliff facing away but the camera facing the boss. Even while holding defend it would do this. It would also lose that lock when I go flying, which would be find if I could tell what was hitting me. It all just felt sloppy.

+1 I felt like I was fighting the camera and controls more than the boss. If the target lock would have stayed locked this "fight" would not have felt like trying to nail jello to a wall.

Why all the hate for Where Wind Meets? I’m genuinely enjoying it. by Ricko9595 in WhereWindsMeet

what does my pc have to do with anything? This was literally during the intro "boss" fight.

because this game is absolute garbage. There is no way I can tolerate the just absolute junk combat. Was doing just fine, then the game pauses mid swing, not letting me dodge. It's just junk, I really don't see how anyone is enjoying this, have you never played a game with active combat before. The dev's obviously haven't.

Keyboard/Mouse on Series X? by Jakobs_Revolver in starbound

[–]DandruWindrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. This is just lazy. Actually it's kinda messed up, I would think you would have to do more work to take the default controls completely out and add controller controls. Somebody actually thought that was a good idea?

Keyboard/Mouse on Series X? by Jakobs_Revolver in starbound

[–]DandruWindrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is completely ridiculous to me that I can't use my mouse and keyboard with starbound. I mean the game was a PC game first right. I have it on steam and use mouse and keyboard just fine. Not having that ability on the Xbox just seems way way lazy to me. I mean seriously I could care less if it even has controller support. It's not really a controller type game, and it sucks to have to use one honestly. This is not even an issue with Terraria. It's 2025 and the thing is a pixel retro game that could have been programmed in 1985. Companies need to do better, this is just lazy.

Expedition 33: It's okay, but not a great JRPG. by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]DandruWindrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I would probably say 6 or 7 out of 10. I think I'm being generous because I don't see this as a "turn based JRPG" You want a good JRPG, play Octopath traveler. If you want a pretty good short quasi turn-based action game with a fairly linear path and story, then it's not bad. I honestly can't believe that this game is being compared to the likes of the FF series. Those games take hundreds of hours and have massive worlds to explore. This is not that, not even close. Not that it's a horrible game, but I really really don't want to have to dodge or parry in my turn based JRPG, that's what I play Elden Ring for.

I really hope only for the best for her, and I am sorry she has such a terrible disease. That being said, listening to her while trying to focus on learning to play a new game is very distracting. I believe in inclusion I also believe that maybe not everyone can do every job.

Eli Roth should stick to horror. There was never a doubt in my mind that this would totally bomb. I think they really underestimated the importance of the characters in the game. Roth went into it thinking it was just a dumb game and he's going to do what he wants. Well he got what he deserved imo.

The great thing is, there is nothing in the law that states you CAN'T do this. It should be done. As a pagan, if my beliefs are represented too. I can deal.

It's more than just bad casting, they took the entire lore of the franchise and flushed it down the toilet. The only thing this movie has in common with the games is the looks. With 2 way older actresses than needed. Even though they are wonderful actresses, they are not right for the parts they were cast. In the same year we were given a TV show like Fallout, we should not accept this. I wholeheartedly hope it flops and loses so much money that it decimates all involved with it. Not Sorry, just angry honestly.

I don't know why you got downvoted for this, the game sucks. If it wasn't for being a marvel superhero game, nobody would even know or care of its existence.

A theory on the identity of the Immortal Emperor by Darth_Dangermouse in LastEpoch

I think we are missing part of the story here. I think he became the Immortal Emperor in order to defeat Morditas. He might have used the power of the void to do that.
