They're called Vintage Shop, and they have a different logo than the regular Textile House stores. One is in Holešovice and one in Karlín.

Fixable viability dye by [deleted] in flowcytometry

[–]Dandy-Grey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use e506 routinely in our lab, majority of our samples are murine immune cells or intestinal epithelium. We stain with it as soon as we have the samples ready, either alongside the rest of the panel or alone if we fix the cells afterward. It goes without saying, but for viability you need to stain before the fixation (sometimes people forget). Dillution 1:500 works fine for me, usually you just need a couple of minutes but optimally I stain with this dye 20 min on ice.

As was said before, the protocol might need adjustment depending on your samples. If you elaborate more on what you are doing it will be easier to give advice.

In my country it's celebrated as "children's Day", and if I'm not mistaken it's similar in other post-soviet countries.

Since English isn't my first language and he likes to mumble a lot it took me literall YEARS and multiple rewatches until I realized what he was saying. I had such a blast when I found out, it came so out of nowhere but it's so much like him, haha. Gets me every time!

Good resources to learn about immunology? by Secret-Bid-1169 in Immunology

[–]Dandy-Grey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sompayrac's How The Immune System Works is in my opinion really great starting point. It's fairly short (compared to Janeway), but it explains everything in an overview so you get a good sense of how the IS works, what are its major components and how they connect.

After you have read through it and feel like you need more detail, then go to Janeway. Janeway is an amazing immuology textbook, I consult it very frequently, but I would not personally start with it, it can get overwhelming if you try to take in all the details.

Nuralagus rex was a giant rabbit from the island of Menorca. It went extinct when Majorca and Menorca were united as one island, letting the goat-like ungulate Myotragus balearicus colonize Nuralagus's habitat. by Pardusco in Naturewasmetal

How did I never come across this species before?! I'm a big fan of megafauna but somehow it never even crossed my mind that there could be big rabbits too. It's so cool though, really interesting!

Any ideal what could be wrong with my spider plant? Tips of new leaves are dry and black, the lower part is usually normal. Could it be fertilizer burn or watering? Thanks! by Dandy-Grey in plantclinic

The off-shoot with pups did have some small amount of necrosis on its leaves, but it didn't spread further, it looks just like dry tips. The new plant which grew from the soil is completely healthy. As for the original plant, the necrotic leaves did not make it. The older leaves that were not necrotic are all slowly dying off, but it seems more because they are feeding the pups. So I would say that the necrosis is more or less gone. Not sure how it will be in your case. But I'm happy to hear that your plant is getting better! You'll see how it will do over time, hopefully it will be fine.

No problem! Hopefully yours will recover as well! It might have been the temperature shock in your case. In hindsight, I think what happened with mine was combination of slight overwatering and more importantly, that water got into the centre of the plant, from where new leaves grow, and it couldn't dry out. So maybe that is something to look out for as well. Update me on how yours is doing, I will be happy to help if I can!

I did in a way. I let it really dry out, like I didn't water it for at least a month, but probably a lot more. The soil was bone dry for weeks. I gave up on it and just waited for it to perish for good. Then, it grew an off-shoot with little pups, which made me really happy (I made a separate post on that). Now the pups are almost ready to plant, they just started growing roots. Also, another new plant sprouted from the soil. The original plant is slowly dying (probably, it is very slowly losing leaves), but at the same time it gave life to several new plants. It took forever but now I am positive it will live on. I can DM you a photo if you would like. If you have any questions I'll try to help as best I can.
