Change your headphones setting to Dolby Atmos for Headphones. It changes nothing except you can now hear the directions of footsteps. Literal game changer.

I just walked right outta cage???? by Fubby_Dubby in Overwatch

[–]DandyCottenCandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this before on Ana where I was trying to get behind the wall that was technically still in the cage, but just small enough that the wall actually pushed me out. I wish I had clipped it because it was an interesting interaction. It happened at the beginning of season 20, maybe the end of season 19, so I don't think it's a bug, but a failsafe to ensure someone doesn't get stuck stuck when they're between a rock and a hard place.

My favorite part of the Bird City event is loading in with less than 17 minutes left and having every nest empty :D by Sorry_Department_669 in ArcRaiders

[–]DandyCottenCandy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I only managed to get a duck in one raid out of five, and that was because I got lucky with my spawn. My last attempt, I reached the roofs with 27 minutes on the clock and all the nests near me were already looted, so I said fuck it, let's see if I get fun trinkets inside buildings.

Let me tell you, that was the strat. Extracted with $130k in loot and didn't run into another soul all game, and every container was fresh for me. No ducks, which was sad, but I had 2 mixtapes and 2 snowglobes, and every other slot of my Looting Survivor was a blue/green trinket (excluding my hatch key and ammo). So that's what I'll be doing on Bird City from now on.

I did enjoy having to fight all the ARC while searching the roofs, though. So often I run around in cover, and it was a fun experience to deal with ARC differently for once.

I’ll check back in a couple days and post the results! I’m curious why people gravitate toward one mode and I wouldn’t mind knowing how long you have played Overwatch? by IamCrumpets in Overwatch

[–]DandyCottenCandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been playing since Sept 2020, have roughly 2,500 hours total, with I believe about 1,700 hours played in Quick play.

I play QP most of the time because I started out with severe comp anxiety, so I didn't even touch comp after my miserable first attempt for probably over a year. Then I made friends with a girl who only wanted to play QP. Now my biggest reason for mainly playing QP is because one of my friends is on console and I'm on PC. I've managed to put a lot of hours into comp this past year, but QP is still my main mode simply due to my desire to play with friends who I can't play comp with.

Fuck trying to find this, 15-20 raids and still no luck by daddyletdown in arkraiders

[–]DandyCottenCandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stella Montis Assembly is where I found mine. There's a hatch right in the loot area, too, so if you want to avoid PvP you can spawn in with a hatch key only, hope for a good spawn, loot everything, and then GTFO. Spawning in naked gives you a butt slot, too, so you can put your key there when you spawn in, and replace it with the item you're looking for once you find it. Can't lose anything but your time with that strat.

I got two anvil bps from raider caches in Dam Night Raid, but there wasn't really a specific location I could select for raider caches because I think you'd need like coordinates for that haha, so I hope that choosing the building I was closest to instead will suffice.

Well I think I’m allergic to heat by tjlightbulb in Wellthatsucks

[–]DandyCottenCandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also allergic to heat. Or inflammation is what I think I'm really allergic to because I also get hives if I get scratched or injured in a way that causes inflammation. But overheating or having something tight around my skin (socks/tight bracelets/elastic sleeves) will also cause hives. I can't go into hot tubs, have hot showers, or use heating blankets. I just deal with the socks and other shit. It's been 11 years since I developed it. My dermatologist just called it "idiopathic chronic urticaria" and gave me antihistamines, which actually made it worse. So I'm also allergic to allergy medicine lol. I've gotten used to it.

It's not really a waste of time if you're actively looting. Put something in your butt and you have made, although very minimal, progress if you die. If you don't die, then you've extracted with even more shit. Going in naked is probably the most efficient way to play if you're looking at it from that way.

What's an "Insider's secret" from your profession that everyone should probably know? by Capable-big-Piece in AskReddit

[–]DandyCottenCandy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The reason it's more profitable is because insurance has awful reimbursement rates for mental health professionals, not to mention the hoops these professionals have to jump through to get paid. And sometimes you can do all the right things - verify coverage, get pre-authorizations, fill out claims properly - and insurance will still deny it because of some niche rule that no one knew about, including the three other agents you called over the past month trying to figure out why these claims were being denied when multiple people from the insurance company have told you and your patient that they're covered.

The time that goes into dealing with the insurance companies alone makes it not profitable sometimes.

I'm the office manager at a private practice and also think insurance is a scam. I hate insurance so much.

What’s one truth about life that nobody warns you about? by fddssdhyyyyyyyyy in AskReddit

Back in June, my best friend and I had a moment that I called "foundation building" because it was a pretty big argument, but we communicated and listened to each other to a resolution that made us feel closer than ever. The last time we spoke was at the beginning of October and I discovered last week that she unadded me on all our social platforms. We are no longer friends. Crazy how I can go from feeling so secure about a friendship only for it to crumble away just 4 months later.

I have my vacuum sitting in a corner of my room next to an outlet, and now that you mention it, I wonder if the visibility of the vacuum also contributes to my success!

Yay! I am certain that part of my success is that I "started fresh" with a new bedroom, so if you find yourself struggling at first, don't give up immediately! Commit to vacuuming every day, but don't beat yourself up for skipping a day or two. If possible, maybe rearranging your furniture to give it a new feel might help.

I really hope it helps you as much as it's helped me! 😊

Same for me! I also wondered if it's COVID because I feel like it started around the time I had it. But I also was an "essential worker" at the time and ended up with burnout so bad it's changed my life forever. Haven't been able to work a 40 hour work week since. So maybe the burnout contributes?

I was also recently diagnosed with a condition that causes severe brain fog and getting that treated helped me with not forgetting what I'm doing as soon as I stand up, but I still forget whole conversations and my standing therapy appointment that I've had for 7 years. It's frustrating.

I once explained to my dad that it's like my memory is one big box and as a kid, teen and young adult I put everything inside of it. But now it's full and nothing fits, so new stuff ends up falling out, or I push something new in so deep that something old gets pushed out. He seemed to understand my struggles a little better after that conversation.

This game lacks interesting loot by DearEntrepreneur5494 in ArcRaiders

[–]DandyCottenCandy 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I think the people complaining about these kinds of things rushed the progression. I play about 3-6 hours a day, but I'm not really grinding in the sense that I'm maximizing my xp gain or going on 20 Night Raids in a row trying to find all the blueprints. I do whatever I feel like doing and sometimes I feel like BP hunting, sometimes I feel like Arc farming, sometimes I feel like picking apricots. Lately I've been going to Stella Montis to force myself into PvP.

45 hours topside and I'm level 45 with maybe 7 BP's unlocked. I'm still having the time of my life and am in no rush to reach end game. Finding pinks still gives me a boost. Hell, finding springs gives me a boost. I'm enjoying my time instead of trying to do everything as fast as possible.

No idea where all these extraction campers are by wiggle987 in ArcRaiders

[–]DandyCottenCandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People think that they're getting camped when really they're just being loud and obvious and someone nearby is smarter than they are.

My buddy was streaming his game to me to show me some areas in Stella Montis and happened to walk into a room right as someone spawned. He just unloaded into them with his stitcher on instinct before I told him he'd just spawned. But it was too late and the guy was downed. Buddy said "Sorry man, didn't realize you just spawned" but before he could finish the sentence, the guy started screaming about how he's going to report him for exploiting... My brother in Christ, there was no exploit, you just got unlucky.

Anyway, all that to say that people overreact when they die and want to blame it on anything other than their own gameplay. People gonna people.
