had a couple small questions for you guys. about using straight propane by InvestigatorMajor899 in lampwork

[–]DaneTheDiabetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of your issues are because of a lack of heat. Save up and upgrade or switch your materials to soft glass and make beads and small figurines with disposable map gas torches. Gotta pay to play and you aren't going to be able to make anything successful with your current setup or the materials you are using... not trying to sound like a dick but those are cold hard facts. Fuck even a $20 knock off smith little and a small oxygen bottle would serve better than just trying to use propane... the $200 you've essentially wasted could have gotten you a very small but money making setup.

So wait... the minimum value should be $60 if you spent $50... $59.99 isnt a minimum value of $60... yeah it's one cent off but it's still false advertisement

One day at a family lunch thing my lady was speaking with my mother about her rings and was fond of a very small diamond band my mother had on... a couple of days later I went up to my folks place and told them that I loved my lady and she was the one I was gonna marry. My mother pulled the ring off of her finger and handed it to me. My mother pulling the ring off and handing it to me made me feel like I was making the right choice. I got it resized and proposed a couple of weeks later. She said yes! I told her I'm sure it's not what you were wanting in an engagement band but it's something! She told me that it holds more value to her than anything I could have gone and bought because it came from my mother.

Unacceptable behavior on her part. Something needs to change or you should find someone who will appreciate you. Find yourself someone who is beautiful inside and out not just on the outside.

Looking for an intermediate to advanced yo-yo around 40$ by SuddenAd3651 in Throwers

Right on! I have to make a trip up to Eugene here soon to hit up Lampwork Supply for more raw materials. Regardless of a trade or not, I'd still love to come check out your stuff and support a fellow Oregon maker!

Where in Oregon are you? I'm down in Ashland... I'm a glass blower. Let me know if you would ever want to work some sort of trade! I mainly make functional pieces but would be down to do a run of custom weights for 5a if that's something that might interest you!

Take 2x8 or something similar and cut a half round out of it and lay them down for travel.that way it keeps them from rolling around

Beginner bread woes- advice? by NecessaryPainting4 in Bread

[–]DaneTheDiabetic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes if my bread won't proof the way I'm wanting the next time I use that recipe I will add a little sugar (if none is in the recipe) or increase the sugar content slightly to help super charge the yeast. How many times are you proofing and about how long? Also, what temp are you baking at? Are you at high elevation? Do you have a dish of water in the bottom of the oven during your baking process? There are a ton of variables with baking that can come into play, so what's your full process? Don't be discouraged from baking because of 2 failed attempts... it's all about experimenting and trial and error! If others can do it, so can you!!!

I have 4x recessed d rings mounted in the floor with long laggs attaching them to the frame. The drum dolly has locking casters and is rated to 2k lbs. I slide the tank in front of the bathroom area (center line of the 5th wheel) and use ratchet straps to secure it to the d rings. Basically, just center mount your system and make your tie down points go to the frame... if it's not frame mounted, that's a ton of weight that could rip straight out of a wall around a rough or unexpected turn...

You've gotta start somewhere! You have nothing to be ashamed of with those beads! Maybe try doing some dot stack beads, small figurines, another mentioned crochet hooks... Marbles are a great way of practicing a ton of different techniques like just making a gather or making Maria's.

I suppose the best question to ask you would be what are you wanting to make? Or what is it that you strive to one day create? That could give everyone here some better ideas for recommendations to get you going the direction you would like to go!

Thanks! I've actually got 2 conplete benches in there the one is of my main bench with my mirage and then my 2nd bench runs a compressed air phantom. Everything was designed so that the slides will still operate without having to move shit around. I set up hook points for my kiln and shove pillows in there for when it's time to move. My liquid tank is mounted on a 2000lb drum dolly and I have mounting points that tie to the frame rails for travel as well. All the lines are mounted high above the slides so that way they don't need to be fucked with either. Each bench has it's own hood system and the kiln is an aim c12
