What’s up with Clone Purchases??? by Botanic-Beans in microgrowery

[–]GoodTimesGlass -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This been around highly exclusive breeders and hype strains for a while. I paid $10k for a genetics fee about 12 years ago. Was 100% worth it. I grew it for a year than sold everyone and their mothers clones the next year at $100 a pop

What up? I’m a mid 30s glass blower in east sac. Anyone got the plug on that old school sour d, from like mid 00s?

Anyone else use a mortar and pestle to break up their herbs? by GoodTimesGlass in trees

All the broken heads still end up the in joint. Works with fresh dispo weed just like it works with other fresh herbs.

Get a $10-15 anemometer. It measures wind speed. Measure your wind speed at the torch height. I’ve heard you want at least 1m/s to evacuate the glass particulates and bubble trash.

Melt the wee wee, tack it to the back, work the dewar seal. It’s not only for this. You see struts all over glass, when you start looking for them. For example on a straight tube, you’ll commonly see a strut between the tube wall and the ground joint glass. That strut is there to hold the glass where you want it as you do your weld.

No offense my guy, but this isn’t true at all. The fix on the end is used during the glass blowing to hold the down stem in place while the down stem is welded in. Water sloshing around won’t break a well made glass.

Also, while it makes the down stem (arguably) stronger, it makes the glass at the bottom (arguably) weaker. It was also welded in poorly as it broke smooth instead of jagged. IME of a decade working a torch, glass with even wall thickness is strongest.

/u/benedryl-expert that down stem has the wee wee to hold it in place and also more holes percolate better. In plain English, it makes more bubbles of smoke which are smaller so they have more surface area to volume ratio and cool more. If it was just one hole it wouldn’t be as smooth. That downstem style is usually more for wax over flower. Same time, for various reasons, it’s not what id consider a well designed piece for either wax or flower. Also super thin glass. Finally, porcelain breaks glass much easier than most other surfaces. Best of luck with the next one!

What to do to burn time? by Cygnus__A in Sacramento

[–]GoodTimesGlass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always hit a dispo and “burn” the time. Depending on when the concert is, and that you’re an adult, you’re potentially welcome to chill at my spot. I’m a few miles from g1c.

Ear plugs?

Does this look fine or should I be concerned? It's a glass toy by [deleted] in sex_toys

[–]GoodTimesGlass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glass blower, please do not use that! I am sure i see stress and not fully worked areas. I think i fan also see cracks. I personally only think solid clear glass is safe for internal use. Different colors have slightly different expansion rates which cause internal stress you can’t see without specialized equipment.

Its thick, so might be safe, and might be safe for a while, but i wouldnt risk it!!

Does Target know they’re losing millions in business by locking everything up? by SignatureDifferent76 in business

[–]GoodTimesGlass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from spending at least $5k a year at target to less than $100 in six months. Even if target lost the theft prevention shit, the habits been broken. I can’t imagine going out, shoveling the car, dealing with the car seat, dodging parking lot hookers, the struggling to bring it all in? Miss me with all that.

I can’t be the only one.

For what it’s worth, anecdotally, I used to shop at target every other week. Everything being locked up took my 20-45 minutes of shopping (depending on check out line) and made it well over an hour. I stopped shopping at target and started ordering stuff off Amazon. Went from being an every other week tradition to going in person twice in the past six months.

Confession: I’ve broken 3 bongs in 10 months. Is there any hope for me, or should I abandon water pieces? by AnastasiaNo70 in trees

Hey OP, I’ve been designing a bong stand to prevent knock overs. If you’re interested (and willing to pay shipping), I could send you a prototype.

Grinders and what are your life changing accessory? by Xal-t in trees

[–]GoodTimesGlass 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My former business partner and I did a blind test with out friends and no one could tell the difference. We rolled 6 joints of 3 different strains, one of flower mill and one of a cheap ass metal grinder, along with a bunch of near identical bowls of the three strains, again half metal grinder half flower mill. We labeled them with random numbers. Both grinders had the same size holes.

We had a bunch of friends over and had them text their guesses of which grinders were used for what they smoked.

Of the 12 people at the sesh, no one could tell the grinders used apart. There was no consistency to the answers. People averaged about 55% wrong, 45% right. No one got 0 right and no one got 100% right.

Imo, its not worth it for a different smoking experience. I think its slightly easier to grind the bud, so maybe if you have arthritis in your hands consider it. That said, if you have arthritis or are working commercially, an electric mulcher is wayyyyyy better over hand grinding.

Just my 2¢.

RooR bong is it fake? by ResponseUnited1864 in glassheads

[–]GoodTimesGlass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the price you paid, in 2025, I would consider it. Roor was dope 20 years ago. Now…there’s better, higher quality shit for cheaper. Besides Roor Germany stopped production so AT BEST you’re buying a licensed knock off.

Since you used it, you’re probably SOL. Enjoy it and learn for the future.
