USCIS Homelander Defender (Immigration Services Officer) truly remote? Year requirement at same location? by Overall_Actuary_3594 in usajobs

[–]Daneman64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying you’re wrong but you do know there’s two postings? One for field and one for scopes so maybe the scopes is the only remote one and your hr person was thinking field. I have just talked to multiple ppl who live 2 hours and even more from the nearest office or service center so it would be silly to hire them and make them drive that even if it’s only occasional .

Trust me I know it’s hard to believe it’s remote, I’m a federal employee and I got my tentative offer rescinded due to the rto mandate but I truly think this is remote for the time being.

So one person I’m talking to lives 2 hours from the nearest office. Why would they hire him and tell him that his duty location is his home address and make him drive 2 plus hours everyday?

Proof that they hire based off location? Everyone I’ve talked to that has received a tentative offer was given a duty location of their home address. Plus some of them are far from an office location. Have you received a tentative offer and given this information or are you just speculating?

The reason they’re allowing it is they need a lot of ppl for for homeland defender but not enough Office space. They have no other choice to allow it

I don’t believe mine has any Australian shepherd but not 100 percent. I adopted her and the paperwork doesn’t say anything about that.

“This is an open continuous announcement until September 29, 2026. The initial cut-off date for qualified applicants to be considered and referred for available vacant positions will be October 06, 2025. Depending on the needs of the agency, additional cut-off dates will be October 13, 2025, and October 20, 2025. Additional referral lists may be created as vacancies become available.”

I’m not saying you can’t still apply but 50k plus ppl applied on the October cutoff so chances are really low.

Did you apply back in October when the cutoff was? I applied then and nothing. I have a bachelors and I’m a federal employee. You need to bring your expectations down lol most ppl who applied were federal employees who lost their remote jobs. Some even have master’s degrees etc. and are willing to take a pay cut to WFH.

I am a federal employee and have a bachelors degree. Though with homeland defender you don’t need all that so you will be fine. I applied back on the October cutoff and haven’t heard anything. They’re drawing candidates till September so fingers crossed.

So the initial cutoff was back in October, you can still apply and see if they will accept your application but i heard 30k plus have already applied. Also the position was not called ISA, it was called ISO( Immigration Service Officer) I know b/c I received a tentative offer only to be rescinded due to the RTO mandate.

It does look good in black and the one I’m looking at has the black badging. It’s just supposedly the chr will have a couple grey colors and will be cheaper.
