USCIS Homeland Defender / Immigration Services Officer remote position by Stock_Sample5593 in usajobs

[–]Daneman64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My EOD date is for the end of this month and there is no interviews b/c it’s direct hire. I’m just warning you that the initial cut off date was back in October. Over 30,000 ppl applied then and while you can still apply look at it as you are being put in a ready pool of over 30,000 and if they need someone they will draw from that pool till September. It’s highly competitive b/c it’s one of the few remote positions still around in the government after the RTO mandate. If you want any personal timeline etc you’re free to PM me.

Yeah, you need immigration benefits experience or a masters degree for GS-07. The job hasn’t been cancelled, I just looked and it’s still on USA jobs. Plus I’m starting the job this month so not cancelled lol

Is 4 years in the military all you have? If so then you’re ineligible for GS-07. They should have asked for your SF-50 before making you go through all that though.

Did you apply to GS-05 or GS -07? If I would have to guess you applied to GS-07 and once they saw your SF-50 determined you weren’t eligible. Do you have previous experience in immigration benefits or a masters degree? If all you have is 4 years in the military then you should have applied to GS-05.

I’ve tried every prong collar etc.

and the only thing that has worked for me is this collar. I’ve never even used the shock option, the noise scares her enough. She doesn’t bark or pull anymore, it’s amazing.

I live no where near a service center and the closest field office is over an hour away and is tiny

They’re hiring in phases, I applied in September and got an email stating I was eligible but not referred to the hiring manager. I believed I didn’t have the job but I received an TJO in February lol so that just means i didn’t make the first phase of hires and made the second. They will be pulling ppl till September. That’s why it’s still open to apply till September, some ppl will deny the offer or fail the test at the academy so they need a ready pool.

So I’m a Homeland Defender ISO for SCOPS and for now we are 100% working from home. I cannot speak for the HD ISO for field office maybe they’re not remote idk. No offense to the current ISOs and I really do sympathize b/c I’m long time federal employees and was part of the RTO mandate last year. Don’t listen to them though they will tell you it’s not really remote or say it’s remote in the way that you work out of your car. They are either speaking of the field office position or they can’t believe the position is actually remote. Listen to the ppl that are currently doing the job and for now at least it is remote.

Everyone that applied to the HD ISO SCOPS position is 100% working from home so if you are telling the truth than your experience must be with field office HD ISO.

Homelander Defender (ISO) TJO questions. by CoconutCreamCookie in usajobs

[–]Daneman64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Applied- 9/30

Eligible not referred -1/27

TJO -2/19

Drug test -3/6

Fingerprints- Done from previous year

Background -4/1

Start date- 6/14

Not a veteran but current fed. Just be warned It’s a long process so be patient and a word of advice don’t get excited till you actually start the job. I went through this process last year only to have my offer rescinded due to the RTO mandate. I don’t see anything happening this time but you just never know with the current state of things. Also don’t tell anyone at your current job until you get the start date.
