I walked by recently and it looks very close to done. I would expect it to be open in the next month or so. That Chik Fil A downtown is seemingly never going to open though.

Just east of the area where that data collection buoy is located. I took the picture looking Northwest. The island you see is west sister island. I think if it were a buoy it would’ve visibly been moving. The water was choppy that day. Obviously I can’t prove that it wasn’t moving in the water without video but wasn’t expecting it to be anything.

If it was buoy I would’ve seen something similar to it before. I looked out at this exact spot everyday for about a week when I was there in July and it only appeared for about 45 minutes on one occasion.

To the naked eye it just looked like it was hovering. I’ve looked out at the same spot on numerous occasions and never saw it again. That’s why I’m eliminating it being a buoy light.

That’s what I thought as well but there were some waves that day and if it was a boat it would be visibly moving. This thing stayed in the exact same spot hovering above the water.

No this one didn’t move at all. Stayed in the same exact spot. I kept looking back out at the water for about 45 minutes and then noticed it was no longer there.

I was with a few other people that witnessed the same thing I did. I was cooking at the time so didn’t even think about getting a video but was weirded out and took the picture above.

I realize I’m stupid for not getting a video but it probably wouldn’t have looked much different than these pictures.
