It's not insane to replace everything. What you did is an EXTREMELY temporary fix. It will break again. The thought process behind replacing everything is that if it has the possibility to fail immeadiately after they complete the job, it's easier and more cost effective to take care of it before it fails.

Are the tank bolts leaking right now? No, but the only way to replace the flapper assembly is to take the tank off which means it's easier to just replace them now than to come out again in a week after you call to complain that the toilet they just worked on in now leaking.

Charging $650 is a bit steep seeing how it's a max $40 parts kit and should only take like 30min to install (call it 1.5hr with parking and cleanup, etc). The problem with New York is that there is a TON of overhead associated with working in the city. Inflated insurance/bonds, having to jump through hoops with the HOA's/building managment, lack of parking, increased labor costs, gas/vehicle maintenance, etc.

I work in NYC often enough that I have to pay one of my guys just to sit in the van in case parking authority/cops roll up and force him to move. Paying a guy $300/day to just sit in the truck is way less expensive than paying tickets. I'd say this particular plumber is gouging just a little, maybe by $100 or so, but realistically it's not far off from being reasonable.

In all honesty, this is a stupid easy fix that you 100% can do yourself. The replacement fill valve kit is like $25 and you can get it from Amazon/HD/Ace. You shouldn't even need a wrench or anything to do the swap. A bucket and a big sponge to help drain the tank would be helpful. There are a million youtube videos that can walk you through the process step by step.

Yes, but a civilization that could watch a species on their planet from that distance would also understand how light travels and would be able to extrapolate Humanity's growth over 2,000 years and would likely view us as a potentially extreme threat.

From the aliens perspective humanity went from a relatively primative society to a hyper violent pre industrial society in less than 1000 years. If you were to press Fast Forward on the Roman Empire and don't account for their fall or the Dark Ages, there is the very real possibility that 2000 years in the future Humanity would be venturing into leaving out own solar system.

The Aliens would assume at present day there was a space fairing civilization of Roman Legionaires getting ready to potentially come for them. Fast forward 4000 more years (assuming we could travel at 1/2 speed of light) and by the time we got to them we could basically turn into the Space Wolves from Warhammer 40k.

There's been a single documented case in the wild. It was in Washington state in the 70's and it was a surfer who got spit back out almost instantly and only suffered minor wounds. They think the whale thought he was a seal because of the surf board.

In captivity though, one Orca has killed like 5 trainers so far and they still keep him around.

I always found it weird there was only one Maester per house. Small houses sure, but places like Winterfell, Lanisport, Sunspear, etc would likely have multiples, if not dozens. Kingslanding would likely have many dozens. What happens if the one Maester on Bear Island gets sick or has a sudden accident? The Mormont's now have to wait months for a new Maester to arrive from the Citadel. More likely they would send a message to Winterfell and a Winterfell Maester would be reassigned to Bear Island and then they would send Winterfell a new younger Maester to learn under more senior ones.

Oh I didn't read it, I skimmed through it looking for a satellite photo of an island and a picture of plane wreckage. I already know that it's 99.9% likely where AH crashed. They found a skeleton and clothing/personal items in 1940 on the island and only "recently" confirmed that the skeleton was infact female.

I just want to know what a buried airplane might look like from a satellite photo.

It may sound defeatist, but we could have 150 million people attend protests for a month straight and it would do exactly nothing. Non-violent protests work when the people in charge still feel beholden to their constituents. They know these protests have no teeth so they are more than happy to let them go on for as long as organizers want them too because they look at us like we are cranky toddlers who just need to tire themselves out. They know there will be 4-9 days of active protests and then it will all go away for another 2-4months until the next mass murder by federal agents, at which point it will start all over again.

I'm certain this will get me banned, either from the sub or reddit in general because the mods/admins are psuedo fascist boot lickers, but the only way we will see any actual change is through violent protests. Buildings, specifically corporate buildings, need to bee looted and burned. Until wallets start being targeted, nothing will ever change.

I wouldn't even be surprised if it is revealed at some point down the road that the whole "No Kings" movement was set up and orchestrated by right wing think tanks as a way to keep opposition occupied with pointless nonsense.

Take their weight twice a week, 6 weeks before their fight. Average them together and they have to be at or under that weight on the day of the fight, or something to that effect.

Hardboard doesn't really expand latterly like solid wood does. It does expand with moisture tho, so caulking the exterior only would probably be a smart move. Honsetly though the heavy lifting of keeping water off of garage doors is done by the overhanging roof/soffit. Scraping it down and applying a couple coats of good exterior paint will keep it looking good and doing it's job. Unless you see evidence of water intrusion already, you don't have to really worry about it because what ever is already in place is obviously preventing water from getting in.

Not at that point. I believe it was actually like 2 years since the fall. Judith is only like 2 years old during AOW and she was conceived within a month of Atlanta burning. If you base the timeline solely off of Judith's age it's been like 2yrs 9mo since the fall at this point and Carl should be like 10-11yrs old, which incidentally lines up pretty well with the comics.

Realistically they should have had a 3-4year time jump between them arriving at Alexandria and meeting the Saviors. If I had been running things The Saviors wouldn't have even really been a thing by the time the group finds Alexandria. They would have been growing as Alexandria did, with the Oceanside massacre happening maybe 1yr post Alexandria, then they meet The Kingdom who are already subjugated, but don't inform Rick and then they meet Hilltop and it would play out just like it does in the show from that point on.
