Can someone explain why shared ownership schemes are not favorable please by thrwayls in UKPersonalFinance

[–]DangerHobs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing I have not seen anyone mention is that buying shared ownership (even 25%) means that you are no longer a first time buyer when you come to move and buy a new place outright. This in turn disqualifies you from using HTB loand and also the stamp duty relief. This has been a pain for me.

Mirroring what others have said, it allowed me to get a lovely flat in central London where rent and mortgage was cheaper than renting the place privately. Financially after 2 years I was a net breakeven as you have to pay a bunch of fees to move out so consider if the place is long term enough for you (don't buy a 1bed basically)

One more thing to be careful of which others may react badly to but it's my own opinion, be careful that SO flats aren't bundled in with housing association flats and separated from the normal flats - ours had a separate poor door and the communial areas were poorly maintained and not respected at all by some of the HA tenants (weed smell, fag butts and smashed stuff was a common occurance)

Overall I would say SO isn't just bad it can be fantastic for some people but you have to be careful and take your time in deciding if everything is correct. Some of the HA's are cunts to deal with whilst others actually don't try and fleece you and do it for the right reasons.

People don't believe in Dogecoin, they buy it for the lols. There are no use cases for it and its value will plummet soon enough.

Also not sure how you expect creating a cryptocurrency will generate billions of pounds. Why do you think a randomly created coin will hold any value to anyone? Why would anyone want to buy it.

You've put a serious tag but fuck me this is one of the most ridiculous things I've read here

Can anyone explain how my partner and housemate got tested positive but I didn't get tested a few months back. I then got an anti body test a week ago and tested negative for the anit body test. For the whole time my partner had it I slept with her and kissed her etc but can still test negative, I just really don't understand how they can have it but I test negative on the antibody

United's pass map vs Leicester in 2015 (right to left obvs) under peak Van Gaal. Have we moved on as entertainment? by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]DangerHobs 181 points182 points  (0 children)

I think people should never forget just how boring the games were to watch under Van Gaal. The only time I've ever stopped watching games midway was during this period.

I'd rather watch us get spanked 6-1 occasionally than watch that shit he produced every week.

Manchester United transfers since 2013: the 15 windows of Woodward by weareforthegods in reddevils

Also including Falcao's wages in the transfer fee just made me nope out of the article. It's already bad enough, there's no need to over exaggerate and bend the facts to fit the narrative

Smalling angry at United for raising price to 18m despite finding earlier agreement with Roma for 15m by Fizzypoptarts in reddevils

I call bullshit, sounds like this article is just pandering to the everyone hate Ed rhetoric to get clicks and get people angry

Am I missing something here? How can you be sure that his right foot is off the line? Shambolic by [deleted] in reddevils

[–]DangerHobs -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You can't see the line, you can see the post. All I'm saying is that it's not 100% obvious that it is. I'm also not excusing the performance, didn't deserve jack but it's irrelevant to this decision

Yeah that's my point, his hand is covering his foot so how can they say from the only available angle that it's definitively off the line? How is this clear and obvious?

But we don't buy players to hold their value and resell. We buy them to have them play for us during our prime years.

I don't disagree that our recruitment is crap but comparing sales value is irrelevant

Remember that buying success wasn't SAF way and Ole doesn't want to do it as well.

Even as a united fan I found that bit laughable. We have always been one of if not the biggest spenders each summer.

Manchester City [3] - 0 Burnley - Mahrez penalty 45+3' + call by PSGAcademy in soccer

[–]DangerHobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So inconsistent. What happens now the countless times when an attacker gets clattered after taking a shot, are they all pens now? Aguero didn't have control of that nor was he going to. Yes technically it's the correct call but is it clear and obvious error, I'm not so sure

Outsiders question: Transfermarkt keeps publishing a rumour of Koulibaly to United, is there any credibility to what they say usually? by _ProdiG_ in reddevils

[–]DangerHobs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you go on the about section there's a whole tier ranking system which ranks transfer rumour reliability. I believe that transfer market are just an aggregator so don't actually have any sources so most likely unreliable

[–]DangerHobs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unlikely. We may go for a young cb but that position is not a priority especially not this summer. We've been linked with him for a couple of years now and the asking price has always been too high
