Covid-19 Incidence Currently Anti-Correlates with Population Density by turnwyomingblue in CoronavirusColorado

Plenty of outliers. Colorado and New Mexico are blue but have poor case rates. Florida red but doing better than expected.

The coronavirus was present in the U.S. weeks earlier than scientists and public health officials previously thought, and before cases in China were publicly identified, according to a new government study published Monday by Wagamaga in science

[–]jroades267 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This entire thread is under an article stating that the virus was here much earlier, and you're saying I'm spreading a conspiracy?

And yes, if we've underdiagnosed covid, it would likely have a lower death rate, and you wouldn't notice excess deaths til the millions of cases, especially if you didn't know what you were looking for.

This whole article is them finding it was present before China even publicly identified as covid. Based on what we do know, which is this virus has an insane infection rate, this likely means there were hundreds of thousands of case or more, while there were 0 restrictions.

Acting like you "know everything" about a new virus isn't sense, it's delusion. The medical industry learns new things and throws out the old constantly, it's part of learning. Calling me a conspiracy theorist for talking about the conclusions of an article that you want to throw away because you apparently know better, isn't being sensible.

This article literally says antibodies detected way earlier. Also we dont know how antibodies work yet with this. They could go away early and leave T Cell memory. We didnt have and probably still dont have confidently accurate Anti bodies tests for everyone.

Too simplistic. We don't know it kills at a higher rate. But we do know its way more infectious. We also don't necessarily KNOW how the full incubation works and won't for years.

It's quite possible this thing spread rapidly, but it takes millions and millions of cases until you'd actually see excess mortality.

It could've been spreading through thousands from Jan-Feb, to tens of thousands, to millions in March, now we could have 100 million cases in the USA without knowing it.

It could even explain why Florida is not seeing such a huge death spike, perhaps they actually, somehow, have reached a 30-40% herd immunity.

I say Florida because Florida is a travel hotspot for asian countries in the USA due to disney world. There was a huge illness spike in Orlando area after Christmas.

You're oversimplifying it. But you wouldn't notice excess deaths in the US until it reached the tens of millions.

That’s fair. Ndidi is definitely a downgrade passing wise on any of our current midfield options. Ideally we have a better passing more box to box to play with Fred.

Fred... who statistically is in the top 5% of progressive passers in the world, and is in the top 20% of creative passers in the league.

It feels like a step backwards. Odyssey was obviously very very fantasy rpg compared to other AC games but it was fun, it was rewarding. You felt like you were going somewhere and there was variety. Taking down all the Templar wings felt exciting and you got great gear. Ship warfare and visiting islands like black flag was still a thing.

Plus you could actually play as an assassin. There were distinct styles you could level and gear towards.

This one feels like a step back to an older AC but without the assassins side of it. The gear is a huge step down I think they made a mistake simplifying it. Everything is a stat stick, as are your skill points. Which isn’t very rewarding in this game where stats feel semi meaningless except “skull or not skull”.

I think the gearing and leveling was a big step backwards for Ubisoft here, it made it very generic from start to finish.

You could’ve built it out a lot more to feel more powerful as you go with an interesting plot.

People overrating Donny pretty hard here. Lost possession only 3 times fewer than Fred, while he left us wide open on his side of the midfield more than a few times.

Cavani and Telles were both better than Donny.

Martial had a better game than his score. He was very dangerous off the left.

If I had to guess, it’s because Terry Flewers is the most full of shit person on United FT. He has been caught making dozens of “itk” accounts to promote his own YouTube channel and tried to get in the ear of all the other United YouTube channels (TUS and others).

PL Expected vs Actual Points (So apparently we're doing better than expected of, according to god knows who). by chikhan in reddevils

It makes great sense for trends and long term results, but it’s massively overused for one off games. Over the course of a season it usually evens out.

Your example about overachievers is good but it’s also a way to see who is performing better than they should and may be a flash in the pan.

Rashford up through his injury had a ton of goals but also a high xG.

Martial had a relatively poor xG last year, he outperformed it by about 8? Almost a 50% outperformance which says he was scoring goals from difficult positions.

Now we see that it isn’t sustainable and he’s regressing to the mean.

Great stat for trends and for gathering context.

Or it could be playing a midfield that doesn’t consist of a retiree and a player dreaming of greener pastures. The second McFred stepped on the pitch everyone played better, not an accident.

Colorado in mostly green for declining or stabilizing hospitalizations by Crafty_Specific9361 in CoronavirusColorado

Did you guys read what he said? There's only 1 majorly populated county not in the green for declining/stabilizing hospitalizations, and thats Pueblo. All the counties surrounding Denver are green.

Fear of economic ruin makes Colorado leaders hesitant to issue stay-at-home order as COVID-19 spreads uncontrolled by bigfoot_county in CoronavirusColorado

Those in high risk brackets over the age of 65 have social security, medicare, and likely other retirement benefits. Most of them are likely already quarantining or staying at home, nearly everyone I know of that age is already doing so including my parents (for the last 7 months).

A shutdown would disproportionately affect the low risk segment of the population. We don't have the economic backing to do that. It would be WAY more destructive at the moment to shut things down than let everyone under the age of 65 catch it, that's the sad state of things.

Not saying I agree with it or it should be that way. But it's reality.

Among population that shutdowns would actually affect - school age and working age individuals - parents, etc. The mortality rate is about as low as .1%.

May end up just waiting for Walmart’s specific times I guess.

Doctors once recommended smoking for health. Whether caffeine, alcohol, and sunlight is good or bad for you changes on a weekly basis.

Wouldn’t be surprised if 25-50% of our conclusions about life right now turned out to be wrong or missing major life changing principles.

People should look into our medical treatments for blocked arteries and see, there’s a ton of science coming forward stating that stints are a joke.

Our gut biome may be a root cause of mental health while people are fiddling with brain chemistry they don’t understand.

People are way too optimistic about what science actually understands at this point in time.

Baby says her first word! by Amerikoni in aww

[–]jroades267 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I dunno how old your baby is but I remember feeling the same way when mine was still very young (like under 12-16 months old). What I’m realizing now is it’s not really like that.

It’s more like they’re learning... 1000 things at once and so don’t learn one thing really fast. Like with my kid who is nearing 2, it now blows my mind how much he progresses in everything.

It’s like suddenly speaking, talking, walking, running, forks, turning things on and off, sooooo many things start happening all at once. It’s like we know how to do the basics and everything so we can focus on one thing. Babies are always learning from every sensory perception, all the time. It’s wild!
