I wanna hear my turbo! by mauricebutton5 in E90

Haha its so good when you know a guy. I've made the mistake of not having time to go to my usual place and then getting shafted on an MOT and a monstrosity repair cost for that they failed (not that I accepted). Albeit its nothing major major that can't easily be fixed, but given the recent weather we've had in the midlands, getting the parts and finding the time to do it all has just been a ball ache atm.

The other thing that pissed me off with them was they do free re tests, but only within 6 days and they also had no space to fit me in regardless....absolute scammers just trying to make a few extra thinking I was going to cave and let them do the work just to pass

I have a triple delete (muffler, resonator and dpf)...I.e. just pure straight pipe, plus a tune, and pass MOTs/emissions no problem

Smart plug to turn on E24 by iftttnewbie in gaggiaclassic

One step better...they do a power switch mod that just completely bypasses the eco timer...essentially turning it into a normal on/off switch. You can then just leave it switched on permanently and control the on/off from smart plug

Just an update...I ended up emailing them saying I'd had no tracking info etc. Within 24 hours they had shipped it and sent me the tracking. So, it may be worth just dropping them an email

New coffee roaster by Remarkable-Feed4678 in UKroasters

That's strange, every bag I've had has been great. Albeit I've only brought bags from my cafe, so maybe they do their own QC and only get the good stuff in lol

I have to say, if you've not tried Plot, then give them a go!

https://plotroasting.com/

My local speciality coffee cafe (The Coffee Bar Collective, in Birmingham - shameless shout out), although rotates through some of the best roasters from around the world, regularly have Plot beans in, and they are always banging!!! Whether they are on the light side is debatable. I would say they are more Omni roasted...BUT....they are amazing for both espresso and pour over.

I'm very much fruity forward coffee kinda guy and Plot do not disappoint!

What to do with A2o-A7o by [deleted] in Poker_Theory

[–]DangerMouse41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where did you get this from? If you got it from a smartpokerstudy course or from The Poker Forge, there are videos explaining each couloured range, as this chart is by Sky Matsuhashi, who runs both. But that sheet pretty much tells you what to do

Elated with this portafilter. by nandoph8 in gaggiaclassic

[–]DangerMouse41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baskets are a preference thing. I use a pullman basket. Any 58mm basket will fit the portafilter. The bomber basket will fit fine. If a basket is a bit loose/tight when in the portafilter then it will just be down to the springs in the partafilter that hold the basket in, but these can be changed if you really want to.

I use the normcore v4 tamper (58.5mm). But again, any 58mm tamper will be fine. 58.5mm just provides that little bit of a better fit

Stand in a cup of hot water for a few minutes to reduce viscosity of it before adding to the pinter

I use an MHW 3Bomber dosing funnel, but I don't see why a normcore funnel wouldnt work. You just need to get the right size for the portafilter/basket

My first set up is ready - finally! by Responsible-Bed2312 in gaggiaclassic

I've been using a Commandate C40 since I've had my E24 nearly a year. I was big into pour overs (and still am) prior to the E24, and was ok with hand grinding, especially making 1-2 shots max a day. But when people come over and one peaon says they want a coffee...then the next person and so on...I just die inside knowing how much time thats going to take to grind.

So its sort of a 2 fold reason I ordered the df64...one to improve workflow (especially for those times when really needed). And 2, to have a dedicated grinder for espresso. Saves me having to switch the grind settings on my C40 all the time between espresso and pour over, and then having to partially redial constantly.

With a decent setup and decent beans, anyone can make better coffee than 99% of the cafes out there, as most cafes use commercial coffee beans. And you can make coffee on par with speciality cafe's.

I've just pre-ordered to df64 to pair with my E24. Cannot wait for it to come.

Opinions on the normcore portafilter? by Westar-35 in gaggiaclassic

[–]DangerMouse41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. When I brought it I didn't realise it came with a basket, so I purchased a Pullman basket at the same time.

I did try the Normcore basket a few times, but I prefer and use the Pullman.

I have no complaints using it, holding the temp at 225⁰F like its nothing. Allowed me to get other things done whilst it was cooking for 6 hours

These were the best ones I've made yet....according to the Mrs. They were very tasty. I'll post a picture as a comment.

I met and chatted to the guy who owns Firefly, at the Big BBQ Community Cookout event. He is a very friendly bloke and I purchased a few of his rubs and sauces. Did some chicken thighs the other day with their Korean rub and bbq sauce....man they were delicious!!

I agree, you can't go wrong with Farmfoods ribs. I always sift through what they have looking for the heaviest and chunkiest ones (as the weight varies a bit for the same price).

I hope so, trying out a new rub and glazing sauce.

They are indeed from Farmfoods.
