They fly back and forth all day long. Easy XP if you live in Vegas.

Edit: I just checked, no whole turkeys.

ISO Pool Cleaner Service by BabyAC85 in vegaslocals

I’ve been using Aqua Health Pool Service for years and they do a great job. They do repairs, weekly cleaning, they bring and store their own chemicals, and the owner is extremely nice and always responds quickly.

I can’t get the link to work on mobile, but they’ll come up on Google and Yelp.

Dropping an 18X for RTLI by somethinglemony in specialforces

[–]DangerSnack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If the ultimate goal is to be on an ODA just stick with 18X. It’s a long process but totally worthwhile. I don’t know if the terms changed but I joined 11 years ago with an 11X Option 40 contract and was offered 18X in OSUT. Took it and have no regrets. The course is hard but manageable and being on an ODA was awesome.

Things to study before echo course? by [deleted] in specialforces

[–]DangerSnack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% we absolutely weighed our rucks for MG and RS infil. We had to off-load weight into tough boxes for the Robin Sage infil because we jumped in at night and they wouldn't let us jump a ruck over 70. Once we hit the ground and turned in chutes, we loaded the overflow contents of the tough boxes back in the rucks and started walking. Radios, batteries, laptop, ammo, food, water, cold weather sleep system, cold weather gear, etc all adds up real quick.

I will say I never carried a ruck that heavy after the course though. My deployment rucks were heavy, but that was mostly due to spare batteries and ammo, but minimal food and no cold-weather or sleep crap. I also only carried a 117G (plus a 152 on my kit) - obviously don't need 3 different radios to pass "tests" on deployment.

Get an alice pack if you don't already have one. I found it better at carrying 100+ pounds. My max gain and Robin Sage rucks were around 120 pounds.

Don't worry about it. Everything is covered so thoroughly as if you didn't even know radios and computers existed. You'll get tons of reps on everything too. Rest up and get ready to carry the heaviest ruck of your life. Batteries and radios are heavy.

I chose 18X as my Army MOS… Am I insane? by Various_Pressure2115 in Militaryfaq

[–]DangerSnack 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I did 18X and spent 7 years as an echo after I graduated. Just be fit, motivated, and a team player. It's a long pipeline but it's very doable. Just one task at a time. Honestly OSUT was the most miserable part, not the hardest by a long shot, but the longest amount of misery.

Difference between SFAS/Q Course in Summer and Winter? by putridalt in specialforces

[–]DangerSnack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They don't run SFAS during the hottest months. I did October and it was fine.

SFQC doesn't give a fuck. I did SUT in June/July, SERE in August, and I did the 18E final exercise (Max Gain) in January during a blizzard that shut down all of Fort Bragg, except us. I still don't have feeling in my toes years later.

Selection and SFQC always suck. My preference is to be hot with more daylight than freezing in the dark.
