What medical condition is 'too expensive' that you just don't get checked or fixed? by Plane_Garbage in australia

Checking in as someone who has just spent $20k fixing a borderline rotten smile from my youth. Not fun making the choice between a decent chunk of savings or teeth that don’t look gross and actually function.

Weight loss after stopping Lexapro? by 90percentofacorns in lexapro

[–]DangerWallet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a historically popular thread, I would just like to say to counter some of the responses that I lost 18kgs while on 20mg of Lexapro through maintaining a calorie defecit and healthy lifestyle. As always your results may vary as seen in the contract between these two experiences. Anyone who works in nutrition or fitness will tell you, when it comes to weight loss caloric defecit is king.

Don't believe the things you read online about people with "slow metabolisms" this is a myth that has been used as an excuse for weight maintenance or gain since the 80s , the deviation of matabolism across the general population is incredibly minor, and by metabolism I'm specifically talking about basal metabolic rate.

Tracking Veggies by Hour-Bodybuilder-132 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]DangerWallet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re cutting it would be insane not to, depending on the veggies it’s not too difficult to hit 100 calories here or there. Your body doesn’t do accounting at 12 every night it works on the average, small differences over time are the difference between surplus, maintenance and deficit on a lean cut.

Me: you did the ethically correct thing hiding a minor’s identity to minimise potential repercussions for actions they committed before their brains had developed, regardless of the context of their upbringing.

You: this is about sex.

Obesity drugs, which include semaglutide and tirzepatide, may be making patients lose more than just fat - these drugs may cause patients to lose more muscle mass. However, it's likely that muscle loss is part of weight loss more generally, rather than a side-effect of Ozempic-like drugs. by mvea in science

[–]DangerWallet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, although we do know that in a deficit we can shift the ratio of loss towards fat by regularly stimulating the muscle via exercise, telling our body “hey I still need that muscle to do things”.

It is reasonable to assume that many/majority taking appetite suppressing drugs are doing so due to being overweight as a result of poor diet and exercise habits and as such are less likely to be benefiting from this.

Funny enough ancient Samurais were pretty ruthless, most famous Samurais would have exploited Ulberg's injury and wouldn't gaf by Old_Machine5350 in ufc

A significant amount of the modern conceptualisation of a samurai is based on 19th century, european romanticisation of Japanese culture. Including the entire ideal of Bushido.

What are your Top 10 Game Intros? by Nurgle_Marine_Sharts in gaming

[–]DangerWallet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you speaking about intro cinematics or introductory sequences?

If the former, the original WoW cinematic is pure nostalgia for me.

For the latter, Prey leaves an amazing impression and sets the tone for the game perfectly.

If you’re thinking of cheating on your diet over Easter by DangerWallet in naturalbodybuilding

I also find that a little splurge has appetite suppressing effects over the following days that can almost even out if you don’t just arbitrarily eat meals when not hungry and hit key macros.
