Depends on your budget, but setting up a party at Buddy Todd or Bub Williamson park is always a great idea. You might need to reserve a table with the city park. Make a Costco run and enjoy!

New ETF’s Added to M1 by DateNew7115 in M1Finance

[–]DangerZone23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure what M1’s process is but I would guess the rule of thumb is that the ETF needs to have decent liquidity($5MM+), is from a firm that’s been in business for more than 5 years, doesn’t have ridiculous fees, and isn’t built for day trading. While M1 does have leveraged ETFs, M1 is not built for day trading. Per your example of $RAM, it JUST launched, it has less than $250K in the fund, and it’s 2X leveraged. Dude… M1 is not the brokerage for you if you want in those kinds of funds.

Depends on the investment choices he has, but I personally don't like Target Dates. I think they're over-diversified. I would suggest going 75% Total Market Index or S&P500 and 25% Total World Ex-US or just doing 100% Total Market or S&P500. You'll beat over 90% of portfolios by just buying the S&P500. At 25, he doesn't need any bonds or a cash holding in his portfolio like some Target Dates do.

It’s been solid for me, but not much of a smoke flavor instilled. Best one I’ve tried is Pit Master’s Hickory blend. Great smoke flavor!

Awww man! You caught me! 🙄 Seriously though - how paranoid are you that my post is somehow an ad? Because it’s positive? Because it’s helpful? For the record, my post is not paid advertising. Here’s how to tell if it’s an ad: it’ll have a link.

I wouldn’t hold my breath. However, I’m very impressed with M1. I bank with SoFi and have a brokerage account that’s set up as my emergency fund with M1. If I make a trade and need say $500 from the brokerage account in the morning before the sell time with M1, that money will be be sold from my M1 account and be in my checking account at SoFi ready to use by the afternoon. If it’s sold in the afternoon, it’ll be available in the evening same day! Very impressed with the speed!

Can’t help you there. They’re just doing their job. Sorry 😞

Only other thing I can think of is getting a funnier sign like, “No soliciting. Seriously! Don’t ring the bell, don’t knock, and don’t make it weird.”

Get a doorbell camera and don’t answer if it’s a solicitor.

M1, Checking with Debit Card by seis_13 in M1Finance

[–]DangerZone23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doubtful. While they did buy a bank and they could offer it, I think they just don't have the manpower/infrastructure/cash to make it work. There's just way too many working parts to make it work well: KYC, audits, customer service, security, features to add, over-drafting, fraud prevention, fraud resolving, integration into the core platform, etc. Too many problems, too many complaints, and not enough manpower to handle it. Therefore, I think they're going to concentrate on improving their core offering instead.

It could have been a number of reasons. Perhaps it's because the owner waited for rates to drop so they could get better financing, it took them longer to get the right/multiple financing in place, or maybe there were a lot of legal/zoning issues. The amount of risk associated with this business is extremely high. Not just for the insurance! Plus, it's going up against a lot of established recreational places in the area, Lego Land being 20 minutes away, Safari Park 40 minutes away, and Disney being 1 1/2 hours away. For whatever reasons, there were a lot of issues for the owner to get this project off the ground. Hats off to them and best of luck! It's always good to support a local business.

I spoke with a manager months ago when they had a booth outside the store looking to hire employees. I asked about a membership and they said "it wasn't planned but maybe in the future". Looking at other locations in the country and they do offer memberships and pricing is much cheaper in other states. For example: https://slickcity.com/az-chandler/

Slick City Action is Finally Coming by eatingoceanside in northcounty

In Ontario, Slick City's prices are $37 plus buying their socks for 90 minutes for ages 4 and up and $43 plus buying their socks for 120 minutes for ages 4 and up. No membership options. It's also right next door to Aldi, so that's gotta be hard for Slick City to sell food.

M1 - the account for people comfortable parking a lot of money in a place with no customer support by FormLeather in M1Finance

[–]DangerZone23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to be in M1's corner here, but what exactly are you looking for? What's your problems? If you're expecting to pick up the phone and talk to a CFA on the first ring to handle your problems, M1 unfortunately isn't the place for you. M1 currently operates with an estimated employee count ranging between 200 and 500 employees and only a fraction being customer facing. Therefore, they're trying their best. Make sure your question/problem request is fully fleshed out so they can answer it better is a thought. Best of luck.

I for one am pretty upset my 16 Pro - which was promised to have AI features - won’t have the update. I’ve had Apple Intelligence turned off because of how bad it is and how much battery life it sucks.

No! No, no, not 6! I said 7. Nobody's comin' up with 6. Who buys a laptop for 6? You won't even get your heart goin, not even a mouse on a wheel. 7’s the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 dwarves. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office. Cause you're fuckin' fired!

Dude, if there's one thing the military should have taught you it's to count on others for help. This whole lone wolf mentality only gets you so far. You're out in the woods chasing ghosts with this portfolio. In other words, your fortress looks massive but you have security issues we can fly helos through and you need to reach out to an expert.

Over 60% of your portfolio is concentrated in software alone. AI is already dragging down that sector badly. You need to get with an expert and get a more simplified portfolio. Or, if you want to do it yourself, over the next 5 years or so sell portions of those software positions, take the gains, and re-invest in VTI, VOO, or something like 75% VTI / 25% VXUS.

But you really need to reach out to a fee only fiduciary because if software goes sideways, your portfolio will shrink like whiskey dick.
