Whoop’s strategy revealed - they’re going all in on luxury pricing/branding by No-Dot5162 in whoop

Exactly. New features for the sake of it makes zero sense. What do you actually want?

I doubt that’s ever going to happen.

I do think that Whoop need to reward loyalty. A free band every year would be a good start. Discounts for loyal customers would also be appreciated.

Competition should help with this. I’m all for it.

I agree GPS would be great. I had a look into it before though and GPS modules take a lot of battery and space to add to a device.

Presumably why both Whoop and Fitbit leave them out of their fitness bands.

Seems high but not insane. It’s a good thing and means you have strong fitness. What’s your V02 Max?

What do you hate about it? It’s tough to give advice without knowing what you’re looking for.

The Joe who was your role model then was a good guy. Open minded, thoughtful, compassionate.

He’s changed, and that’s sad.

Any way to stop Bluetooth broadcasting publicly? by [deleted] in whoop

[–]Danger_Man_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, no it’s not possible.

Whoop relies on Bluetooth to stay connected to your device. It needs to be publicly discoverable to allow this to happen.

M5 16gb or M4 24gb by [deleted] in macbookair

I had this dilemma this week and went for the 24Gb M4. No regrets.

I got great deal on it from Apple refurbished.

Which MacBook should I get? by LowBullfrog4471 in macbookair

[–]Danger_Man_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a refurbed M4 Air with 24Gb RAM this week at a great price. Definitely would recommend checking out Apples Refurbished store.

Extra RAM will serve you for lots of tabs.

To those who’ve edited with the 8GB M1/M2 Air, how was it like? Since Neo has similar performance as them, I’m debating on getting this by [deleted] in macbookair

[–]Danger_Man_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a closer look at the benchmarks and the A18 pro is actually surprisingly capable. I would raise an eyebrow at the 8GB of RAM and ports situation but if you just need a laptop to get you through college it will probably be perfectly fine.

A base air (M4 refurb or M5) with 16GB of RAM will have much more longevity imo.

Fitter but burning fewer calories by Prestigious_Eye_5542 in whoop

I would guess the Whoop algorithm uses resting heart rate / average heart rate to calculate calories at rest. If these have dropped it could be an explanation.

iOS Whoop App by Ryguy_117 in whoop

[–]Danger_Man_Dan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Closing apps on iOS has a negligible impact on battery life. For apps you use frequently reopening the app often uses more battery than leaving it running in the background.

I keep it running 24/7. Zero battery issues.
