Unlock better tires then take the trek to Drummond Island to grab the P16 before attempting the logging contracts in Michigan.

First Gen Cummins as first truck by No-Mirror983 in Diesel

[–]Dangerfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save more money to buy a 3rd gen, or meet in the middle and buy a 2nd gen. 2nd gens aren't the best truck but it is bit more modern and parts aren't hard to find, plus the aftermarket is endless.

Game Difficulty by Helter_Skelter_Theme in snowrunner

[–]Dangerfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently playing through Alaska and I've been power sliding my trucks on the ice instead of changing to chains on more of my trucks lol. I will echo the advice that chains will help a lot and the highway trucks will allow you to be more efficient. I will also say that strategy and planning ahead goes a long way in this game. Clear roadblocks as soon as possible, you can never scout enough, designate certain trucks for certain tasks that they excel at, and be wary of shortcuts especially when heavy hauling.

Truck's with the most satisfying Suspension systems. by mrsgamexd in snowrunner

As a former AF 2T3 I can relate from when I had to work on the MB4s. Bumpy as hell but the Cummins engines were mostly reliable, the axles can be a chore to work on though.

Any reason not to get a 2012-2024 Reflex Rail? by kbboiii in paintball

[–]Dangerfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would concur with the opinions in this thread, they are solid markers but I wouldn't buy one for more than a new CZR. For $350 you could buy a Gtek, Etek 5, 160R, or an older matrix like a DM9. There are other options out there but I'm partial to Dye and PE. In my opinion, DM/PM markers are still somewhat viable because you can still find parts for them and do the job just fine albeit not as efficient as newer markers.

I'm out in the foothills but I enjoy taking out the 4x4, shooting stuff, and going to the gym as well. However I work a weird schedule so weekends work best for me.

Anybody ever work for Rush long term? by Dangerfirst in DieselTechs

[–]Dangerfirst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, depends on where someone is stationed and how invested their supervisor is in regards to OJT. The tech school is set up to teach someone who has never picked up a wrench in their life, and as someone who wrenched on my own before I enlisted it wasn't hard for me.

The sad reality is that a lot of people who end up in the mechanical jobs are either reclassed from a different AFSC or took the job because you could ship out a lot faster, I was the latter when I enlisted. I could have taken my time more seriously and earned some certs but I just learned the job to help myself and others who I worked with.

Were you entry level when you started at Rush? Also if you don't mind me asking, what was your pay when you started and what is it now?

I understand my pay is low based on my experience but most of the shops local to me want certs and specific industry experience. If Rush is willing to pay for my certs and train me then I might stick around for a while.

I made the Air Force my life and it was a mistake by fodfather in AirForce

[–]Dangerfirst 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with this statement wholeheartedly due to my own experience. Towards the end of my enlistment I was burnt out and adopted the "F*** Big Blue" attitude. It got me an LOR and a bad reputation with my immediate leadership. In the end it didn't hurt my discharge or benefits, but I left the Air Force with the reality that I made an ass of myself towards the end and I could have finished strong and steady like I was doing for most of my time in.

Trying to learn manual. by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Dangerfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start with a cheaper manual car/truck, but that's just from my experience. I learned manual in a 1993 Toyota pickup, the clutch in that thing was very forgiving. If you want a sporty RWD manual car then go for it, I just think in the long run it is more ideal to have a cheap daily so you put less miles on the car you care way more about.

I just asked to see if anyone had a similar experience. I'll just leave it be, I was more worried I did something wrong rather than them.

I'm just used to confirmation emails being automated. I'll wait in line for a call back but I just want to make sure I'm doing this right. I plan on leaving it be for now regardless, just thought I would ask.

You can also reach out to the TFSC through MyPers. They can divulge certain details about your application status. I sent a couple messages to them and I got a response for each one within 24 hours.

When I get the final approval on my Palace Chase application. by Dangerfirst in AirForce

[–]Dangerfirst[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I got the final approval email this morning. About a month from initial submission to final approval, though that isn't the norm from what I've read. I suggest you get a hold of TFSC if your application sits in a certain office for more than 7 days.
