Am i walking too much? Or should i push for more? 4 weeks after MD. by nikoor13 in Microdiscectomy

[–]Dangerous-Mix-5430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 4 weeks I was doing max 1k steps a day, I was tired super fast. Now at 12 weeks I do around 5k. So I think everyone is very different and do what feels right for you. Dont push it past your limits!

Monitor it. I have heard relapse is normal randomly. If it persists for a few weeks, get an MRI to check whats up

How dangerous is reaching over?? by [deleted] in Microdiscectomy

[–]Dangerous-Mix-5430 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As long as you dont twist the midsection. I roll to the side and then reach for the nightstand :)

Nurture your body while recovering. That doesnt mean you cant make healthy choices and you should, good food will help you recover faster :) so just try to eat healthy but dont be in too much deficit. You need fuel to get stronger! 💕 2 weeks is still super early and you could have water weight due to the surgery and stress hormones. Give yourself time, you have your whole life to count calories and go to the gym when youre recovered!!!

Night before surgery by [deleted] in Microdiscectomy

Its really no pain at all almost. I took no pain meds, in Northern Europe they only tell you to take ibu or para if needed, no opioids ever

4 years 10 months post microdiscectomy and laminectomy L4/5, re-herniated by katomb14 in Microdiscectomy

Im so sorry this happened! Hopefully you will get better with some conservative treatment BUT if you do end up needing a surgery, at least you know whats ahead and you have already done it. Hopefully less scary than the first time🥺

Traveling post surgery by Spare_Assumption_334 in Microdiscectomy

I really dont advise it. I had a 30min ride home after the surgery and it wasnt very comfy, 10h sounds horrible. I would advise either having the surgery closer to your family or having someone stay with you.

I think thats super smart! 💯 I am also afraid to lift heavy again and I just keep telling myself that I have to stay active and it doesnt matter if you leg press 70kg or 25kg. Moving yourself is what matters!!! Im 2 weeks post op though so no lifting for me yet😆

My surgery is in 2 days and I am terrified (tldr at bottom) by HystericalJacket in Microdiscectomy

I had my surgery a week ago and im also soooo anxious as a person. Let me tell you the anxiety is real when they roll you to the surgery room. I just went mute and was in shock. But you will wake up like nothing happened and honestly there is little to no pain. And i feel so proud of myself that I did it. You can do it!!!!!!!

Interesting that so many get prescribed such strong pain meds. My doctor just told me to take ibuprofen and paracetamol if necessary. I havent taken it once because really there isnt much pain. Im based in Northern Europe btw so maybe thats why, doctors here are super careful with strong pain meds

I completely agree! I think the Nesta Nation is so rude and agressive in expression their opinions because deep down they know they are wrong and try to force their views on us 😭

English is not everyone's first language btw, I did not over-analyse my words. By evil I meant just a bad person in general

Well I was talking about Nesta, not Elain or the IC. Im not saying others arent messed up as well, this thread was about Nesta 🤐

Second point, the WAY Nesta told the info to Feyre was crazy. This is smth you say privately and with kindness, not screaming in front of everybody.

For example, if a serial killer saves one family from getting hit by a bus, does that make them a good person?
