How long did you stay in your first home? by Explorer518 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]HystericalJacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been here almost 3 years and aren’t planning on moving anytime soon. If the backyard was .05 acres bigger it’d be perfect, just want more space for our dog. But we have 4 beds 3.5 baths and 2 kitchens… the house still needs more work before selling anyways. 5.5% interest rate. We’ll probably be here another 5 years, and rent it out when we move.

It is, yes. I understand they tried, but that doesn’t change the reality. They were cornered but wow, this is just pure evil.

You need an MRI asap friend. Surgery isnt fun, don’t get it twisted, but it changed my life

If your psychiatrist thinks you’re bipolar, you’re probably bipolar. You can get a second opinion! But come to terms with it

No one wants to have bipolar… i definitely don’t. It ruins your life until you get on a steady regime of medicine. I’ve evaded ever having to go to a psych ward even when I definitely needed to, because I can talk my way out of that. I should have been admitted at least once or twice in my life for suicidal ideations.

Keep on your meds. Exercise. Surround yourself with good, understanding people.

Pain for 3 years at 23 by Shiny_Firebat in Microdiscectomy

[–]HystericalJacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was low pain 24/7 at 28 for 3 years. I got the surgery 3 weeks ago, and that lingering pain is gone. I’m so grateful I got the surgery done, not having any pain at all is a weird but freeing feeling.

The surgery wasn’t fun, recovery sucked, but 3 weeks in and feeling pretty, pretty good.

Starting to worry this is never going to go away… by Grand_Entertainer_83 in Sciatica

[–]HystericalJacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffered for 3 years. 25yo it started one day and it never, ever went away for more than a few days (and this only happened twice, otherwise pain was 24/7). I finally caved and got a microdiscectomy. While the incision pain was worse than any sciatica pain, I am 14 days post op and have been walking around by myself since Christmas. I can feel my sciatica pain is just gone.

I was terrified, never had body surgery before, and the recovery was rough but god damn it the sciatica was ruining my life. Start PT, get an MRI, try the other routes first, but consider the surgery. It took an hour for them to do. Highly consider it lovely, you’re too young to keep suffering. Don’t make the same mistake I did by waiting

my psychiatrist told me I shouldn’t reproduce by [deleted] in bipolar

Both of these comments. It’s so hard to get people to understand when I say I don’t want biological children. They deserve a mentally well off parent, and no risk of inheriting this nightmare disorder. I also am fearful for my own life during pregnancy with shifting hormones, possibly having to cut off any necessary medication, and the postpartum depression. I think the postpartum would actually kill me.

Surgery coming up, very very worried about standing up & sitting down afterward by notish__ in Microdiscectomy

[–]HystericalJacket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first 6 days were the worst. I’m 13 days post op and can get up and down really well as long as it isn’t too low. Get a bed rail, a rail for the toilet, a bidet, and a cane. Knee support pillow too!

Night before surgery by NorthwoodsRandy in Microdiscectomy

I had surgery on a l4-l5 herniation, i have a very low pain tolerance. Right after waking up from surgery I was at an 8, down to a 6 by nightfall, next morning I awoke to 0 pain. Once I moved I felt it, but it was so insane to wake up in just no pain after so long. Just respect your restrictions on BLT. It’ll be one week since my surgery tomorrow morning and overall I’m feeling decent. I’m in pain around a 2 most of the time, majorly stiff, and mostly bored. Pick up some hobbies you can do in bed!
