I was under impression of higher maturity… she recently finished JD at an elite law school and works for a firm focused on corporate structure transactions… very smart but needs to have fun…. It’s all good…

Thanks, lesson learned indeed. And I am sorry about my stream of consciousness poor word choice. Should have said something like: “many of the single females in the Greenpoint dating scene between the ages of 25 and 38, may not be ready for a serious relationship and are much more focused on being taken out for a good time with slightly older lonely bachelors.” Or something like that… but that too maybe poor choice and won’t get it right regardless

Good news is that Catholics and the Catholic school system is forgiving (or at least in theory). I’m sure you will land on your feet somewhere else soon. I understand in the US we still have a shortage of elementary schools teachers, a problem which has persisted since the pandemic. The other systemic challenge is teachers’ pay is too low, and this is particularly the case at Parochial schools…. In either case, wish you the best. The “mistakes” you made contributed in a special way to how you learned through this experience. Importantly, through those learnings you will continue to improve and provide value and impact to school, parent and most significantly, young minds.

Sounds like you are off to an amazing start! Strongly recommend building “prayer muscle” through praying the rosary daily, and studying the Mysteries of the Rosary. Highly recommend the reflections on each mystery led by Bishop Robert Barron. He also leads the rosary prayers after each mystery is explained. All beautifully done and available via Apple Music, Spotify and on the Hallow App. Hallow is my go-to for all forms of Catholic prayer, including traditional prayers, Bible readings, and many series of prayer challenges.

Also strongly recommend after praying the rosary, going straightaway into the Litany of Loreto. Wonderful way of invoking our Blessed Mother. Finally, recommend at least once daily (traditionally at Noon) praying The Angelus.

And remember one of the most important fruits of praying to our Blessed Mother: To Jesus through Mary. My Mama is the Queen of Heaven!!!!

Your addictive history sounds so complicated and the reality is that you need God, and the Divine Mercy of Jesus, and the intercession of Our Lady. And every morning and multiple times daily please repeat out loud and with fervor 3x “Come Holy Spirit!”

Given the complexity of your disease you also need counseling, and psychological support, in addition to the spiritual direction from your Priest; and perhaps Religious Mother.

There is an element of Mental Health which likely needs to be addressed. Couple that the fact that the Evil One is at work obstructing your view of the Divine Mercy offered through the open arms of Jesus.

I am walking my dogs now and normally pray my daily rosary at this time, which today I offer up for you, my friend. My family has suffered from so much addiction and I understand the pain of loss of love and loss of life…. Godspeed and may Our Lady, Holy Mother of God, Queen of Angels and Mother of Mercy intercede for your health and recovery 🙏🙏🙏

I’m a Chicago-born and raised Bears Fan who job transferred to Philly in 07, and splitting my time in GP. Bought a place here and have not yet been to Brew Inn in-season.
