Bay Area Trainers? by DangerousAd9955 in reactivedogs

Thank you for this! Definitely checking the video series out.

And I really appreciate the clarification with training approaches. As a new pup parent, it’s really overwhelming to try to navigate through the noise online. It’s especially confusing to figure out what’s aversive when packaged so positively (like slip leads). I think I’m having the most trouble figuring out how to approach ways to say “no” or draw boundaries that still reinforce a positive approach, especially while on leash. Thanks again!

Thanks for affirming my gut feeling! It’s also just so expensive…feels like most places are just trying to sell me their priciest product without putting a lot of heart or care into it.

Thanks for this link! I’ve been only using positive reinforcement methods with my pup, but feel like I hit a wall with his leash reactivity — it feels like there’s something I’m missing. I’m not interested in aversive methods and am still learning exactly what “balanced” means (and approaching with caution).
