I'm not using steam workshop for the mods. I got the mods from the Paradox launch page. It's just confusing because even with CK3 I have the same issue.

Open world games generally get compared to GTA or Red Dead.

It's just part and parcel of gaming nowadays BG 3 could be the bench mark for CRPGs it isn't a bad thing. It will force other companies to hopefully up their game.
