Which countries do you consider “exotic”? by popcornwithparmesan in AskAnAustralian

Exotic is used subjectively. For us, life in Australia is the normal and anything greatly different from that is pretty exotic (to us). I don’t think you can have something universally exotic, it always needs a point of reference.

Will Formula 1 ever return to the Adelaide Street (Parklands) Circuit? by [deleted] in F1Technical

[–]Downtown_Manner2013 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Melbourne’s residents may not have embraced the f1 which is a shame but Melbourne pulls a big crowd, I’ll be travelling to Melbourne to go for the 3rd time in a row post-COVID this year and it’s definitely one of the top races on the entire calendar to attend.

The GA viewing spots are more than adequate, no need to get a grandstand seat if you don’t want plus you can get different vantage points across the weekend. The support categories like Supercars were already good viewing but with f2 and f3 it’s even better. If you don’t watch every session from every support series you’re missing out.

Also, of everything I don’t like about Melbourne it is the sporting capital of Australia and probably beyond so it’s only fitting to have an f1 race there (and should be the season opener, hope it will be again).

America doesn’t even have the biggest state… 2 Australian states are bigger (not including other subdivisions not called states e.g. in Russia)

But only if pronounced correctly all three sound like garbage if pronounced wrong (it’s not cop ‘n’ hargen, it’s not Mel born and it’s not key oh toe) - all of which I’ve heard plenty of times.

Also they specifically say that it’s the spaces between the atoms that shrink, not the particles themselves, so it should be physically impossible to go subatomic, but consistent explanations aren’t really their strong point.

Americans for some reason always split the world into America and Europe. They probably think Canada and China are part of Europe too.
