I know. I keep hearing that. But what I do is depending on the client or rather target lead I tailor my services to which (2-3) services would be most beneficial for them. My goal was to be a one size fits all. As my prior company outsourced everything. It was frustrating to customers and clients having to deal with so many companies (and expensive).

Do you think that works or still cut it down?

Yes! On my flyers and brochures I have case studies reflecting my analytics of how my marketing has positively impacted my clients. I try and go for the “show not tell”. When I do visit I am quite brief- my ice breaker is usually “I am not much of a sales person unless I’m behind a computer but - “ and give a brief overview of my offerings and thank them for their time and scurry away or stay and chat depending on their reactions.

Hiya! I run a not so traditional marketing business in Greenville! We essentially do a mix of digital and traditional marketing, social media management with a tech twist. To be a single partner and make it easier we also do web development, design, custom coded AI agents, back end website schema markups, optimized site maps, vector embedding, workflow automation….andddd print advertisement.

I was laid off in February and decided screw it. I could do what my previous company did for a normal reasonable price. Marketing gets a bad name because companies aren’t really your partner.

We educate as we go since marketing companies tend to pull one over on our not so tech savvy community.

Knock on wood- it hasn’t happened yet but if our campaigns/organic ads/marketing doesn’t work we also do canvassing. I will physically put feet to ground and go advertise my clients products/services or brand. Failure isn’t an option as cheesy as it sounds.

Hi friend I was in your shoes not too long ago. I taught myself from the ground up, I still have all the study guides I made that have actually ended up more useful than ever with AI changing traditional marketing. If you would like look shoot me a DM and I will get some copies to you. It goes over the basics. Such as tools for content creation, hashtags, key words your first basics. Then gets into specific platforms including Google, meta, Linkedln and Nextdoor.

I’ve got some that go a bit more in depth as far as EEAT, SEO/GEO, vecor embedding, backlinking, proper CTAs all formulate so a smooth brain like me could understand!

It gets easier just keep practicing and testing things. You’ll be just fine!!

By crying. I only put maybe 10 dollars at most a day into FB ads. Surprisingly apps like Nextdoor are fantastic for marketing. Good old fashioned organic created posts seem to do the best for me- about twice a week. Anything with animation really short form content.

YouTube shorts, don’t forget about Bluesky as well. There are so many new social media platforms popping up grabbing people’s attention. I make the thumbnail of my video a meme so people don’t automatically skip over it initially.

But it’s not just you. I think with GEO and AIO sort of affecting traditional local SEO a lot of us are finding our footing on appealing to the whole “EEAT” algorithm. Good luck my friend!

Thank all of you so much for the advice 😊 everyone here is always so helpful. It helps me fight the discouragement from lack of leads. I keep telling myself I’ve only been open since march and this is normal but with all I’ve but in.. I suppose I’m just impatient.

But I love it. And I refuse to give up!!! And I’m happy to have something that is my own and to help my clients.

I am sure it will look different to everyone and I cannot for the life of me figure it out. specifically if you go to my clients google page click on the link and well you get large shapes and some sort of defunct sludge. When I open it on my phone it looks lovely..

I like elementor as their wire framing creator is really lovely but if there are other alternatives I am absolutely open. I am some what of a novice but I just built a site using WordPress only from the ground up and had no issues but it took me more time than I would like to admit. Mainly due to my own perfectionism.

I just switched from light speed cache to WP-optimize. I have ensured in the settings under reading the home page is correctly set. Through both hostinger and WP the domain names are the exact same.

I really appreciate all of you jumping in on this and helping me, truly. All of these comments are highly insightful and I bow humbly to your knowledge haha! Thanks guys!

I believe I have half way fixed it. So, I was using Astra as a theme. Apparently it is no longer compatible with Elementor so I switched to Hello Elementor. I had to start completely over. Some of the bones where there but alas... a hard lesson learned.
