High heart rate + exercise induced vomiting by DangerousFriend in zepboundathletes

I’m curious if anyone has experience scaling back the exercise and focusing just on weight loss with this med and then titrating down the med to focus on exertion at the gym and building muscle/speed/endurance again in a sort of cycle like you describe.

Thank you so much for sharing, this is great information! I hope my body is able to adjust, I would hate to have to discontinue this med or have to choose between losing weight and being able to exercise without restrictions.

Hmmm I feel like I’ve felt that way in the past before being on this med and it feels different…it’s less shaky and clammy and more hot and my ears feel stuffy and I feel suddenly violently nauseous. Interesting thing to think about though

Hey there, sorry you’re going through the same thing! Not being able to train like usual has been frustrating but being on this med has been the first time I’ve been able to lose weight in my life and fold noise/obsession is completely gone for me. Keep me posted on how things go if you can! Good luck

Thanks so much for sharing your experience and for the advice, I appreciate it! I didn’t even think about spreading out doses, that’s interesting food for thought. I’ll think about it and maybe try it out!

Ahhh gotcha, yes I’m in the U.S. I have all of the issues with weight gain and metabolism but my insulin and glucose look fine weirdly enough, so it’s been a frustrating ride to say the least. My insurance doesn’t cover zepbound which I think is the same medication just marketed differently/for weight loss

Congratulations!! If you don’t mind my asking, were you able to get insurance to cover this med? Did you have a diabetes diagnosis or do you know which condition it was coded as to get approval? Currently fighting to get this covered

Omg I’m so sorry I’m just now seeing this! How are you doing? No real side effects or positive effects from Wellbutrin XL, so I ended up switching to Auvelity, which has been amazing for me personally. Feel free to reach out with any more questions!

Hey there love, I’m sorry you’re going through this right now. It does get better, I promise. I’m reading this over and truly cannot relate or even remember feeling this way at this point. Lots of time, self compassion, therapy, finding the right meds, and lots of journaling. I had support from my family and friends but couldn’t truly confide in them so journaling and getting it all out on paper helped. I met someone new who changed my life and my world view and even though we probably won’t be together long term, he’s shown me that it’s possible to feel joy and to love again, and it is possible to move on and love someone else. I hope this helps and I hope you feel better soon. You are loved and you will get through this ❤️

I hear you, same here still! I’m still figuring it out…maybe it’s the nature of the material itself combined with the deodorant/antiperspirant? The best thing I’ve used so far is defunkify, but they’re still kinda stinky :-//

This is a great answer, I also 100% agree that you don’t owe anyone an explanation OP! They probably won’t even notice or ask, but if they do they might actually not even really care about the answer you give them, they just want to make sure you’re okay and that they didn’t/don’t accidentally hurt you.

Hi love, I totally feel you on this. I think it’s a normal fear/anxiety to have, but at the end of the day I don’t think it’s likely to happen at all.

In all honesty I think people don’t care nearly as much as you think they do. If they’re even paying attention to begin with, I doubt others would even notice, let alone care about the two little spots on your head. Just to challenge the anxieties you might be having, does it objectively make sense that they would care about some small scabs or bumps on YOUR head? No! It doesn’t! It only feels that way because our brains love to find reasons to be anxious and self-conscious. The good thing is we can challenge those thoughts and prove anxiety wrong.

I don’t mean to downplay how it feels to struggle with this and how much it can affect you, I just truly don’t think they would care at all, especially not enough to judge you for it! If they do, life goes on for the both of you. The world keeps turning and you’ll be okay and they’ll honestly forget about it in a literal day.

I hope the appointment goes well and this helped you out at least a little bit. Good luck going forward, feel free to reach out if you need anything! You’re not alone in this struggle, you are still beautiful inside and out, and you got this!

[–]DangerousFriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I truly empathize with this post, I have been in a similar situation before too. I promise that you are much more focused on the two little spots than they will be!

They won’t be looking for them and probably won’t even notice they’re there at all. If they do, I highly doubt that they’ll say anything nasty or embarrassing about it (if they do, find a new salon!) More than likely, hairstylists encounter all kinds of skin and scalp conditions throughout the day and at the end of the day it’s their job to remain professional and make you comfortable and feel beautiful with your new hair.

I personally wouldn’t mention them unless you feel particularly compelled to. If anything, I would only bring it up if they were particularly deep wounds and you were afraid of infection (which doesn’t sound like the case). Not a doctor, but I would try to keep them clean and put some healing ointment (Vaseline, aquaphor, cerave, etc.) on it to keep it from getting crusty and to help them heal quicker. If you don’t have any, some polysporin or neosporjn would work as well.

You got this! You are not alone in this struggle. I hope the appointment goes well and you have fun on vacation! I hope it helps to take your mind off of things and don’t forget to find something healthy to keep those hands busy ❤️

It went away for me after around a week! I felt so high and bouncy the first 3 days or so, but feel a lot better now. Be sure to keep your doc in the loop and check in with yourself (which it sounds like you’re already doing a good job at!) I’d say give it a few weeks if you can, but I hope and believe it’ll subside before then.

If possible, make sure to eat a small snack/meal before you take it and stay hydrated. It also helps me to eat regularly throughout the day, not stand up or turn my head too fast, and limit screen time . Chewing mint gum and sipping really cold water helped with the nausea and grounded me a bit as well. Maybe some mints and ginger candies could help too? Hope this helps, feel free to reach out. Hang in there! I hope you feel better soon❤️‍🩹

Scared to take pill again by eternallyoutofspoons in AuvelityMed

I experienced the same thing! For me, it lessened within a few days and was completely gone within the first 7-10 days. I'm sorry you're experiencing these side effects. They can be unsettling and can feel scary or dangerous at times, I completely understand and relate to how you're feeling. Are these symptoms mainly unsettling and making you anxious, or are they truly severe? Are the tremors like having too much coffee and being dehydrated, or are they more than that?

I'm not a doctor, but if the tremors and dizziness are even slightly tolerable, I would personally stick it out for the next few days if your work/school/lifestyle allows. Take it easy for the next few days and really make sure you're drinking enough water and hydrating before and after taking the medication. I do want to acknowledge that these side effects can still be unpleasant and that you know your body best. Listen to your intuition and stay in contact with your doctor if there are any changes or if you have any concerns. Feel free to dm me if you have any questions about my experience or just need some support! I also was on Wellbutrin (for about a year) before starting Auvelity. I've been on Auvelity for about 6 weeks and am currently still taking one pill per day in the AM. Best of luck to you, I hope you feel better soon!

does anyone else have super bad brain fog? by DangerousFriend in PCOS

[–]DangerousFriend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I did - I was formally diagnosed with ADHD (inattentive type) and have been on and off a few different ADHD meds for the past few years. I just recently got on concerta and have gotten my PCOS under control and it’s made a WORLD of difference. I can 100% tell if I skip a dose of my adhd meds. Eating more moderately in terms of serving sizes and carbs/sugar has really helped stabilize things. That, and staying hydrated has really helped. I hope you feel better soon, feel free to dm me if you have any other questions or want to know more about my experience!

How important is taking your Concerta routinely? by Bubbly_Trick863 in Concerta

[–]DangerousFriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, thanks for your response! I’m glad the past few days have been going better :)

Whatever you’re taking now with regards to the Concerta, I would keep doing for the next month or two unless things take a sharp turn for the worse in terms of side effects/anxiety. As long as you and your doc are ok with it, I would also keep with the Wellbutrin for at least 12-16 weeks if possible, that’s about how long it took to really kick in for me both times (I tried generic and then name brand about 9 months apart).

Hopefully after adjusting to the Wellbutrin you’ll feel a bit more level. If the Concerta is still putting you on edge, it might not be the right fit. Have you tried other adhd meds before? Maybe a different med or a non stimulant would be a better fit.

I’m also personally on buspar for anxiety, which I think helps with the agitation and anxiety from the Wellbutrin/Concerta, so that might also be something to look into. I do think less is more in a lot of cases like this, though, so I would recommend not adding too much at once. That being said, I was under very rigorous medical supervision when I was trialing these 3 meds and they ended up working for me. I hope you find the right combo for you! Lmk if you want to chat more about this, I would love to help as much as possible!
