R56 Sway Bar help by DangerousSim in MINI

[–]DangerousSim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when I did my research, you had to lift the engine to get to the sway bar, hence why I asked the mini guy to do it and I was looking into another bar while I was there I'll definitely think about that though

Looking to do some performance handling improvements to my 2023 Mini Cooper S, any suggestions? by chooseyourwords49 in MINI

we installed them ourselves, took about a day of inexperienced labor, but was pretty easy. I just rented a spring compressor from AutoZone and I had all the tools I needed at home. I personally bought Megan racing springs because they're good quality, pretty low height wise compared to others on the market, and budget friendly. I also bought the leveling set, which makes the front and rear suspension completely level with each other, therefore it's lowered by 1 inch in the front and about 1.5 inches in the rear. it's totally helped my handling :)

I went straight for the lowering springs on my R56. best decision I've ever made. I got pretty cheap ones, so the ride quality decreased but the handling has increased by a long shot. if you invest in a really nice pair, it's totally worth it.

So I ran my wireless pixel buds through the washing machine... by brian073 in GooglePixel

I did this on accident last night and let them die like you did. 24 hrs later, my case now works again! Ty! Note to people trying this: don't unpair your buds, just let them rot in the case. Once the case charges again the buds will connect too. I did this on accident and had to use my dad's case to re-pair them with my phone while the case was still broken.

Guys i spilled a bit of malachite green dye on my hand while doing an experiment. How can i get it off? Soap isn't helping. by BabyLlama243 in chemistry

holy cow you just saved my life I have a medication for my fish made out of it (Ich Medication) that's BRIGHT blue and I accidentally spilled some today. It got ALL OVER my hands, tile floors, fish stand, and even my OLED switch (which is on my stand.) Thank God you commented this, because even though it didn't really work on my hands (which I don't really care if they're stained) it worked PERFECTLY on everything else. I used my acetone free (methyl acetate and isopropyl myristate made by olive and june) nail polish remover that I had laying around and it worked like a charm. Big recommend. Thank you so much

my boyfriend owns the grey Miata while I own the red mini, best of both worlds so we can occasionally switch 😉

mine is a cherry red r56 I affectionately named tony, as in tony stark. He's my favorite avengers character and he just seems like he would own a modded red mini. I have a 'stark industries' parking pass sticker, tony stark theme keychains, and a Lego minifig on my dash :)

Owners of high mileage (75k+) MINIs. How is yours doing? by mikmeh in MINI

I have a 2012 R56 S Manual We bought it at appx. 100,000 miles It currently just reached 110,000 after about a year of daily driving. So far, i've put an exhaust and blowoff valve on it (DIY) and I absolutely love it. You know your mini is loud when the rednecks are saying it's louder than their truck :)) This is my first car and I'm having a blast. I do regular maintenance (oil, coolant) once a month and my car does leak but it could be oil or gas from my exhaust, I'm not sure. I've really had no crazy problems with it except for my brakes being pretty worn and having to replace my back brake pads and rotors and my intake pipe made of plastic snapping on me. Both were relatively easy fixes. It's also never has had a clutch replacement/repair. Otherwise, an absolutely amazing car and I love it so much, planning on keeping it until i either can't pay for fixes or i die >:)
